No football for Louisville public schools next week

Breaking news: Jefferson County Public Schools will not play football next Friday.

Reported first by WHAS’s Kent Spencer, Spencer’s follow-up tweet reads, “JCPS says a review of the data will take place on Thursday evening and JCPS will make another determination about athletics next Friday morning….. next week is the final week of the regular season…. then the playoffs.”

With numbers up in Fayette County, don’t be surprised if you see a similar decision around Lexington and beyond. Fayette is back in the red zone.

The postseason begins in two weeks.

    This is so ignorant.

No choice – have to flatten the curve. Numbers are not good in Jefferson County.

Even if one believes in canceling stuff due to cases, this decision making protocol is arbitrary. And delayed. Last Friday morning they cancelled this weekend’s games – but not *that* Friday night’s games… why? If it was such a serious “we’re in the red, gotta act” situation, why wait until Monday for the decision to apply? Why not cancel that night’s games? Games get inconveniently canceled last minute for lightning. Whole thing is arbitrary to make it seem like those in power are needed and are doing something. And the “25 per 100K” threshold? 25 sounds like a good number, yeah let’s make that red. And let’s cancel stuff – not for this weekend – but starting 3 days from now, for the next week.

Exactly Keets. I commented and asked why this week’s games weren’t cancelled when this info was first posted the other day. It makes no sense.

BlueCat, have you been washing your hands? For at least 30 seconds? Haha.

BlueCat, I can hang in there, stay safe and positive, and question arbitrary decision making protocol, all at the same time. Also, I think you’re supposed to robotically follow up “We will get through this.“ with “We will get through this, together.”

If you have an opinion about why the red county protocol is to go into delayed effect starting with the upcoming Monday, based on the prior Thursday’s data, please share. Open to reason.

This is just so ridiculous. I wonder how many people have contracted the flu in 2020 to date? Contracted. No sane person believes this current covid is going to just disappear. Soooo, what’s the number the ‘powers to be’ are going to say it takes to open up? Buehler? Buehler?

Exactamundo! My wife is a nurse, and after the first time they moved the goal posts after the “15 days to flatten the curve”, I asked her “Who is going to have the guts, and when, to say ‘Okay people, we have to open back up'”? They’re starting to close restaurants and such again and so many of these politicians don’t care who gets hurt in the process. They discovered they have more power than they ever thought they could exercise, they’re drunk with that power, and they are using Covid as an excuse to wield it over us.

My wife has asthma and in no way wants to get Covid, but even she doesn’t agree with all these lockdowns starting up again.

I said all that to say this: VOTE TRUMP!!! Otherwise the lockdowns will be nationwide and Joe & Kamala won’t even leave it up to the governors & mayors IMO.

It’s good and refreshing to know that somebody in this state is coming to their senses.

If you’re in love with lockdowns then NYC would be good for you right now. Illinois also.

Here’s an interesting point on covid case numbers. A good friend of mine and his wife caught it last week. There son in law got it this week but his wife doesn’t have it, EVERY DAY the son AND daughter get asked if they’re OK and BOTH get counted again as having covid! As long as they call you and your still positive, it’s added to the list of cases. The so called number of cases is a joke. If you don’t think that all of a sudden the ‘cases’ are going through the roof due the election, you’re head is up your arse. Oh, and I’ll wait for an answer from the chicken little people on my prior post regarding the number of flu CASES so far in 2020.

The question of duplicate reporting of cases was addressed by Dr. Stack and reported about in the H-L last August. There is absolutely no duplicate reporting of cases like the poster says. The sounds like more misinformation Trump would spread.
