Just as they did in both matches last weekend vs. Auburn and again yesterday vs. Mississippi State, the second-ranked Kentucky Volleyball team swept MSU in straight sets, 3-0.
FINAL – #2 Kentucky 3, Miss. St. 0

Mississippi State, now 2-6 on the year, once again had no answers for a supremely talented UK squad. The Bulldogs did keep it somewhat competitive for the first couple sets, scoring more points in each of the first two than they did in any of Friday’s sets.
The small improvement changed the final outcome nary a bit. Kentucky’s abundance of hitters — Alli Stumler, Madi Skinner, Sophie Fisher, Azhani Tealer, among several others — were overwhelming at the net compared to a weaker and injury-riddled MSU frontline. In the back, freshman Riah Walker continued to shine as a defensive specialist while upperclassmen Lauren Tharp and Gabby Curry were reliable as always, helping stabilize the UK defense.
In a clean three-set sweep — 25-17, 25-17, 25-16 — the UK Volleyball team wrapped up their fall slate with an unblemished 8-0 record, cleaning up the first half of their schedule with relative ease. Unfortunately, they won’t be back in action next until Jan. 22, but we’ll have you covered when they do.
