The No. 18 ranked Kentucky Wildcats (18-6) executed a sweep of the Auburn Tigers (6-17) in Alabama on Sunday afternoon, winning its third straight match as they now move to 11-2 in SEC play.

Behind 18 digs from junior Gabby Curry and 13 kills via senior Leah Edmond, the ‘Cats were able to win all three sets by at least eight points as they now sit just one game behind Florida for the best record in the conference.

A common theme in this match was Auburn taking early leads in sets before letting them slip away. Auburn maintained a 10-6 lead early in the first set before the tide began to turn. The ‘Cats would quickly battle back, taking the advantage at 15-13 before a 9-0 run put Kentucky ahead for good as they ultimately won the set 25-17.

Auburn again held a 9-7 lead early in the second set, but a 4-0 run from Kentucky pushed them ahead and the lead eventually ballooned to a 15-10 advantage in favor of the Wildcats. UK would win six of the final seven points in this set in its largest win of the day, 25-15.

Finally, another quick start for Auburn saw the third set tied at 7-7 before Kentucky eventually shifted gears. The ‘Cats found themselves ahead 19-13 late in the match and ultimately finished off the Tigers 25-17 to complete the sweep.

Edmond was joined by sophomore Alli Stumler as the only two Wildcats with double-digit kills. Stumler finished with 10 kills. Junior Madison Lilley added 31 assists and 16 digs in the win.

Kentucky was able to hold Auburn to a hitting percentage of just .048 and coupled that with their own hitting percentage of .242.

Check out the highlights from the win.
