Kentucky has defeated Louisville, again. The UK women’s swim team earned a win over the Cardinals Saturday, finishing the rivalry meet with a 160.5-139.5 win in Louisville. The victory marks the third year in a row the lady Cats have come out victorious over the team from down the road.
The No. 25 Kentucky men’s team lost to No. 10 Louisville, 165-135.
The Kentucky women’s team got off to a hot start in the dual meet, winning gold in the first four straight swimming events and the 1-meter springboard diving event. After gaining valuable momentum at the very beginning of the meet, the women’s team finished the day with a first-place finish in nine of the meet’s 16 total events – swimming and diving combined – including three 1st-2nd-3rd place sweeps.
