Add basketball recruiting to the list of things being impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. This afternoon, Nike announced that the first two sessions of its EYBL circuit have been canceled. Corey Evans is reporting that Adidas has done the same with its events.

The first session for the Nike EYBL was scheduled for April 17 in Indianapolis and the second April 24 in Atlanta. Adidas was scheduled to hold events on those same weekends in Louisville and Council Bluffs, Iowa. Those two weekends are the only evaluation periods the NCAA gives coaches to watch recruits in the spring.

Here is the statement from Nike:

Under Armour also has events planned for the spring evaluation periods, but you have to think they will follow suit. The McDonald’s All-American Game, the Jordan Brand Classic, and the Nike Hoop Summit have also been canceled.

ICYMI earlier, the NCAA has suspended recruiting for all sports, both on and off campus, until at least April 15.

Good grief. Can we just stop with all the cancellation notices? Just assume everything is canceled. After all, it is a national emergency.
