Nick Saban is in Lexington today

saban-wills

There is a popular runner-up in Lexington today visiting the state’s most prized football recruit.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban, looking a little happier than he was last week, took a break from complaining about Clemson’s pick play to pay a visit to Jedrick Willis. Saban stopped by Wills’ Lafayette High School to make sure the four-star offensive tackle is still ready to sign the Alabama paperwork on February 1.

Wills tweeted this photo of the visit:

Wills is all set to become one of 23 four and five-star players in Saban’s next great No. 1 recruiting class on Signing Day.

That’s not even fair.

The difference is that at UK the guys only stay one year and have a true chance to shine. Whereas as Alabama, the players must stay 3 years and continually have Saban recruit over them. Many 4-5 star guys who would be 3-4 year starters at virtually any school will play 3rd or 4th string at Bama for most of their careers (yes, I am talking to you Damian Harris).

It was a pick play, don’t blame him.

But football players have to stay 3 years… look if they are good enough they’ll play early just like at uk. Correct me if I’m wrong but a true freshman played qb at bama this year. Right?

Hard to dislike a coach who is a class act and who wins big doing things the right way.

I was just glad to see Bama lose, as long as Ohio university was not in title game I would have pulled for anyone else besides Bama. Good luck to the kid, the real traitors bg7914 are the kentuckians going around saying roll tide, bandwagon fans just the worst. GO CATS.

I hope Mike Irwin (Fayetteville, AR, sportscaster) doesn’t hear about this — he might blow another gasket (good player near SEC school going out of state to another SEC school, and all).

Also don’t underestimate a kid’s desire to get out from under their parents.

There are those in the world who gain pleasure from inciting a reaction when deriding others. Those people are almost always unsuccessful in life which is why they feel they must inflict their self loathing onto others. I actually feel sorry for these people as they can never be truly happy.

Just had dinner at Malone’s on Tates Creek and saw Saban here with Jedrick Wills and family. Pretty neat to see him here. He’s really a little dude – Saban, not Wills.
