So Woj wasn’t supposed to be a draft spoiler, but he just couldn’t help himself? He’s the worst. I didn’t watch, easier to let the internet tell me in a couple minutes instead. Glad Hami and Jarred got to hear their names called.

Felt bad for Mikal Bridges, from Philly, played at Nova, and his mom works for the Sixers. They drafted him, and then traded him to Phoenix an hour later….damn.

Yeah, looked like Hami might end up at home in NYC for a little while there too…

A baseball coach on the day after the draft, wow, another great scheduling cluster. Haven’t been able to keep the radio on this week, hope next week is much better

Hate to have to point out the obvious, but… If they could get Coach Cal to do a show, they absolutely would.

      10:28 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

Agree, Realme, but it would probably be more relevant if they could get one of the assistant BB coaches, or maybe someone like Rex. One person I would LOVE to see hosting KSR would be Dan Issel.

Chesticles is always bitter. Must suck to be that person

  3. Random thought: Adblock Plus is great, but how is it that there are always 3 ad links that get through just above the comments, and 2 of the 3 are always of the “Click here to see scantily clad women” variety? One of the 3 is almost always either “She had no idea why the crowd was cheering” or “She had no idea why the camera crew was staring”.

      Smut always finds a way… 😉

    • And no, this isn’t strictly based on search history. I see people say that all the time, but I don’t click on or search for stuff like that.

    • J-Dub421
      10:28 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

      Sure you don’t CG… 😉

    • Realme
      10:28 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

I think some of that stuff shows up here, because the algorithms assume a sports site is full of guys, who will click on it.

      10:30 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

      Nah, it’s all STD’s fault. 😀

I will have to say, I am absolutely not biased against scantily clad women”; however, I don’t click on those either.

    • Touche JDub! 🙂
I think Realme is probably right.

I couldn’t resist, you set it up so perfectly. 🙂

So did Shai get the material for that suit from one of the couches that survived when we didn’t make the Final Four this year? 😀

    • Maybe his new team will add that print as an alternate uni!

    • J-Dub421
      10:27 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

      Nah, grandma’s drapes.

    • Realme
      10:27 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

I genuinely think he could have pulled off that print. If it wasn’t head to toe, every layer.

    • RealCatsFan
      10:30 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

At least it was an actual suit instead of those ridiculous “slorts” that LeBron was wearing.

    • runningunnin.454
      10:40 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

Yeah, Trae Young wore those “suit-shorts”…egad.

    • J-Dub421
      10:45 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

Over under on Trae Young being a bust?

    • Shorts with a suit or sport jacket had become a thing for a (ahem) short while in the 80’s too (that fad drank a cup of coffee). What’s old always becomes new at some point.

    • Booby Petrino
      11:48 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

I love Shai’s suit. And I saw an article that named him ‘best dressed’ last night so it seems as though lots of people loved it

    • J-Dub421
      12:02 pm June 22, 2018 Permalink

That pattern on a full suit was a little busy IMO. If it had been just a jacket, I think I would like it.

That “all those draft picks and only one championship in 9 years” argument has got to be one of the stupidest things intellectually lazy fans have parroted from attention seeking talking heads ever.

    • runningunnin.454
      10:53 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

Yeah, and comparing Saban’s 5 titles to Cal’s 1 is equally stupid. There is more parity at the elite level in basketball than there is in football…apples to oranges.
And, of course it’s easier to win a 4 team playoff than a 64 team tournament.

    • RealCatsFan
      10:57 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

Count K had two players in the top 7 and didn’t do anything of note last year. Guess he sucks too! (No pun intended)

    • RealCatsFan
      10:58 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

Plus Saban routinely gets to develop players over 3 years. Let Cal do that and see what happens.

Was actually kind of glad to see Ray Spalding making it in the second round. Friend of mine’s son is a team manager for them and has become friends with Spalding – by all accounts he is a really good kid. Went to my alma mater. (Still, can’t see where he is better than Wenyen.)

Wow, Kansas players sure got drafted low, or not at all in a few cases.

    • runningunnin.454
      11:37 am June 22, 2018 Permalink

They didn’t have a player in the first round. Big 12 POY Graham went 34th…lol.

    • J-Dub421
      12:00 pm June 22, 2018 Permalink

Andrew Wiggins has been pretty good, but not the second coming of Michael Jordan like everyone thought he’d be. (He’s not even the best player on his team!)

Embiid is very good, but rather injury prone.

Josh Jackson is pretty good so far.

The rest of Kansas players in the league are role players at best. I guess the NBA finally figured out that a lot of Kansas players aren’t worth high picks.

Ha! Blandon who is calling in is a shuttle driver for Oxmoor Toyota here in Louisville. He has given me a ride into work several times when I had my car serviced there. Great guy and fun to talk to – if you meet him he will remind you of John Candy’s character in “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” – but in a good way. 😉

I hope Matt is enjoying a well deserved vacation bc I miss him and the guys on the radio show! It’s not the same without him, and my mornings aren’t as great without the KSR boys to listen to. Baseball and football coaches are booooooring. Having the draft and morning after Travis signs, and no big discussions about it disappointed me. Enjoy and hurry back, Matt!!!!!
