National Media Says Marcus Lee Will Make the Jump

Marcus Lee 2

Get used to seeing that image above us. At least that’s what Jon Rothstein of – and pretty much everyone in Kentucky – believes. Rothstein talks about how Lee is ready to make a major jump as a junior after seeing just a handful of minutes the previous two years.

Nothing in the article is too shocking, as many Kentucky fans have been saying it’ll just be a matter of time before Lee gets his shot as one of the go-to guys for the Cats. Unfortunately for Lee he was stuck behind a plethora of NBA-players and was the one who had to do the most developing despite being a McDonald’s All-American. Don’t expect Lee to change his style of play, he’ll still be the guy clapping the entire game, protecting the rim and looking to finish alley-oops, just expect him to do it more frequently.

The best part of the article? Rothstein reminding us of Lee’s performance against Michigan in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

I agree, but he’s going to get hacked up bad if he doesn’t get his FT% up.

I see Marcus nearly everyday. He definitely hasn’t bulked up too much, but he doesn’t look pencil thin like he has been in the past. I hope he plays bigger and stronger inside, changing into a rebounding/cleanup machine. Maybe like a poor mans Deandre Jordan?

  3. If he had not busted out against UM, we wouldn’t have witnessed Aaron’s incredible shot. I believe BenHur is right about free throws, but…

I just hope he has a similar impact to what Willie had. They have basically the same game, although Willie was a little taller and had bulked up a little more than Marcus. Just rebound, protect the rim, finish lobs, and hopefully be versatile enough to guard multiple positions.

Let’s not get too hyped. It was just a few weeks ago when the national media told us Patrick Towles was the best QB in the SEC.

Yeah, and it wasn’t that long ago when UofL fans were crowing that they were a sleeper playoff team! LOL

Bout time for him to have some playing time. Believe he may have been among the top three in actual production for the meager minutes he was given. I think he will surprise more people than some may believe.
