Myles Turner picks Texas

BmfvpB-CEAA9Rbv

Onetime Kentucky recruit Myles Turner just announced he’s headed to Texas over on ESPNU’s Recruiting Nation. Turner was always on the Cats’ radar, but interest weakened on both sides in recent months, and Kentucky fell out of the picture altogether in the past few weeks. Considering our roster for next year, it’s not hard to see why.

Turner, considered the fourth best player in the 2014 class, picked Texas over Kansas, which I don’t mind one bit since Kansas already has commitments from Kelly Oubre and Cliff Alexander.

Good luck, Myles. Nice hat.

Guess he didn’t want to be 3rd string at UK.

Coach K was still recruiting him as late as last week. They were probably a dark horse at best but had he selected Duke it would have given them their 10th McDonald All American.

… he went to TX for the great coaching he’ll get there that will help get him to the next level. Not.

Texas gets guys to the NBA, jut no thanks to Texas or their staff. He’ll be the next in that line. Solid player who’s continuing to develop rapidly. They’ll be a good team next year, but Kansas still owns the Big 12.

Just maybe Rick Barnes and the Texas program have placed arguably two of the 3 best players in the “next level.”. (KD, Aldridge)

KD is on a level with LBJ but I tink his time at Texas was a non-factor in his development.

This is good. He can’t hurt us going to Texas. Actually he couldn’t hurt us going anywhere but better Texas than the jayhawks

    Awww we can’t have 5 – 7 footers? lol

Good for him, but should have picked Kansas. Texas is irrelevant.

I agree with that statement! Bill Self, the KU program, and Turner would have all benefited much more… oh well better for us! Congrats with choosing Texas and their fantastic basketball fans

Rick Barnes just announced he is not interested in coaching Turner, in a move that confused many expect for previous UT players.

Love the choice. I was afraid he’d pick Kansas. Great news.

  8. Hey, at least the bucket lid gave us something besides the usual flat bill to make fun of. Maybe the next big commit will don a fedora.

I’m convinced that Myles wore the hat that was meant for his sister

Good luck to him. We’ll be all right with our 7-man depth at the 4 and 5. I hope he doesn’t hope to win a title, though, as Rick Barnes has withdrawn his name from consideration for the national championship in perpetuity.
