Myles Turner likes Cal’s laid-back style

myles turner

For some reason, Myles Turner has been one of the harder 2014 recruits to read so far. Rivals’ #6 player in the 2014 class recently cut his list from 26 to 8 (Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Texas), and is doing a blog for USA Today’s High School site. In his latest entry, he discussed his recruitment and had this to say about Cal:

Like Coach (John) Calipari is really laid back. He told me straight-up: “Myles I’m a 50-year-old man and you’re a teenager; there’s nothing we can talk about every day. I’m not gonna be calling you seven days a week.” I really liked that. He just told me that he really wants me and he knows what I can be there at Kentucky.

The only other coach Myles talked about was Coach K, who he says treats him like a pro. Right now, the 6’11” center only has one official visit planned (to Kansas on October 4), but says he’s working on scheduling the rest. Other than basketball, what’s important to him in a school? A good psychology program.

Odds Cal and Myles talked about Miley this week? Girl’s got issues.

Myles Turner isn’t going to like Cal’s team not having an elite point guard next season. Enjoy this season while you can fellow Cat’s fans….. next year could be another nightmare!

I think Andrew Harrison goes after one year and Aaron Harrison moves to the point – plenty of SG – but he can improve his draft status and NBA life by moving to the point.

Yeah, after Duke’s “jewelry-gate” last year that got swept under the rug by the NCAA, I think it is safe to say that Coach K will PAY him like a pro in addition to treating him like one. Or maybe that is what he was trying to say…

#4 we know you’re a troll, but if not and you call yourself a Kentucky fan, then you need to just switch teams because you’re an idiot. just like #8 said I guarantee you he’s right Aaron Harrison will be either running the point as a starter or splitting with Ulis, and if you think he isn’t good enough then you don’t know basketball period. That kid can flat ball he scores at will against anyone no matter their size and is a tremendous facilitator, hope like crazy he chooses Kentucky. BBN OWNS UofL. And Coach Cal owns Ricky poo.

bigcatstanding: I most certainly am not a troll. And if you think Ulis is the answer for next season you need to stop calling people names.

You must not remember what happened the last time Cal didn’t have an elite point guard running the show…. Ryan Harrow/NIT ring a bell? And if Aaron Harrison is your solution for point guard I have some bad news: He’s likely going pro!! As a UK fan I actually hope he does, because that means he lived up to the hype this season. Ulis, while a promising 2 or 3 year player probably won’t be an elite point guard as a freshman.. Hawkins may be able to fill the void, but who really knows?

It’s sad that you can’t express reasonable concern on here w/out a few morons jumping all over you.

Kentucky will have a elite PG next year, they have several options, with Exum ,Jones, Ullis, and Snider. Plus as said Aaron would be a option also ,I seen him play PG last year when Andrew had a hamstring pull against Aaron Gordon’s Team and he looked the same as Andrew No loss of production. But I think we have a great shot at getting Exum, him and Towns are good friends and he said it was his dream to win a NCAA Championship before he went pro.
