Nine nominees were named for Kentucky Mr. Football. The annual award was given to Caldwell County’s Elijah Sindelar last season. Here are the nominees:

Mason Alstatt, Lafayette (183 carries, 1,558 yards, 17 TDs; 34 catches, 349 yards, 3 TDs; seven returns for touchdowns)

Steven Nelson, North Laurel (271 carries, 2,292 yards, 36 TDs; 50 tackles (18 solo), 5 INTs)

Quinton Baker, Ashland (195 carries, 1,976 yards, 26 TDs)

Lamarius Kinslow, Fern Creek (43 catches, 783 yards, 12 TDs; 108 tackles (50 solo), 27 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, 1 INT)

Luke Woods, Whitley County (125 of 212, 1,778 yards, 18 TDs; 204 carries, 1,764 yards, 19 TDS; 31 tackles)

Rodjay Burns, Trinity (44 catches, 744 yards, 14 TDs; 22 tackles, 4 interceptions)

I watched six of these players on my trips this season. I think it is a solid field to pick from this season. Who do you think should be awarded the honor? You can vote on my Twitter for the KSR Fan Vote.

Lamarius is a kid that I’m surprised UK didn’t give more attention to. He’s a crazy athletic kid performed against better talent than Kash…..although I’m super glad we have him. He’s committed to wku but didn’t attend camps so I understand why he stayed under the radar

Western seems to be doing okay with a lot of UK’s (and U of L’s) “rejects” (not enough arbitrary stars beside their names). Those kids show up on campus with something to prove, unlike our “big time” signees who are convinced that they’ve arrived even before they arrive.

      Translation: Don’t schedule Western.
