Good morning, Big Blue Nation. It’s time for another edition of Kentucky Sports Radio radio. This time Matt Jones is in Lexington with Ryan Lemond for two hours of healthy UK discussion. With the Florida game (somewhat) behind us, they will talk about the importance of Immanuel Quickley’s commitment, Zion Williamson’s cancelation, John Wall’s Hall of Fame speech and more. Football will also play a key role in the conversation.

Yeah, explain the basketball thing; we can’t garner anything from short cryptic tweets.

I have a feeling that this thing is going to get way bigger as the week goes on. Thank goodness it doesn’t include Nike affiliated schools (at least not yet).

Card Chronicle has to be absolutely imploding right now. πŸ˜‰

Too bad Duke and UNC were not named.

  6. Well, another scandal that will make the NCAA so mad they’ll pound Cal and UK.

They will certainly pound some division II school for letting a player sleep on a couch somewhere.

I guess we have to thank the University of Louisville for giving us yet another amusing diversion to distract us from our misery from this past weekend. πŸ™‚

They say that sometimes when you are in pain you need a clown to make you smile. I guess UofL has taken on the official title of Bozo University. πŸ˜€

Thanks for screwing up again and being corrupt U of L! We appreciate the distraction.

From WDRB: “In court papers, prosecutors said the FBI has since 2015 been investigating the criminal influence of money on charges and student-athletes who participate in intercollegiate basketball governed by the NCAA.”

Hopefully Sandy Bell and UK’s compliance office remains on high alert to keep UK’s program far away from stuff like this.

In Sandy Bell and Coach Cal we trust.

    • Am I the only one whose eyebrow was raised when KSR posted the pic of John Wall posing with Sandy Bell? I think that is another thumb to the eye of those who falsely accuse us of having a dirty program where kids only go to school for 1 1/2 semesters.

We have a perfect APR. Our players go to class. Other students post photos of our players in class.

I know I was confused when Brian Bowen signed with UL; I don’t remember the timeline; but, I thought it odd that a player of that caliber would sign with a school under NCAA investigation…a school that was the butt of jokes nationwide.

Thanks Louisville for making my day. You will [should ] get the death penalty for this one.

So if I’m reading the indictment correctly, they are alleging that Adidas provided the money to bribe Bowen to attend Louisville. I guess with all the other scandals and corruption going on at UofL, Adidas felt sorry for them and figured that they couldn’t afford to bribe Bowen themselves. Probably didn’t want to see them hiring more skanky ho’s. πŸ˜‰

I never could understand why U of L fans didnt want Pitino gone after the Stripper scandal… I thought there could be a chance they could get Donovan from the Thunder after Durant left, and worse case scenario they could get the Xavier coach. But neither of those coaches will touch that job now…

    • J-Dub421
      11:18 am September 26, 2017 Permalink

I take a little joy now knowing that U of L might be stuck with Pitino since their program is a pariah now.

hell the thunder are contenders now. no way they let donovan go now

    • DrSayre
      11:28 am September 26, 2017 Permalink

Yeah, I dont think he leaves now… but I think there might have been a time where Donovan would have considered going back to College if the right job opened, and I would think Louisville might be a good spot for him.

So to change the subject slightly… who do we replace Louisville with on our basketball schedule for 2-4 years ?

Cal and Miller are friends to so i think the game with Indiana is coming anyway.

    • J-Dub421

Indiana keeps insisting on a home and home series. Cal WILL NOT go back to Assembly.

    • ukjaybrat
      11:44 am September 26, 2017 Permalink

they might lax on that since we are losing a home and home from the schedule for a couple years.

“we will play home and home for X number of years if you sign a contract for 2X years where we play remaining games at neutral site locations”
      something like that

I have been saying for a couple of years now that U of L needs to clean house in both their administration and athletic department. They keep refusing to do so, therefore scandals keep happening. I believe it was Einstein who said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.” (Or something close to that.)

We need a cleansing of some kind re: Florida in football. We need an old priest and a young priest to perform a gator exorcism, a sage cleansing, a voodoo priestess, a Native American shaman, something. Or maybe we should try all of those.
