Mountain Dew infused pickles – Genius or Crazy?

I think I’ve found your new quarantine snack. Well, maybe. It’s probably an acquired taste. I’m talking about Mountain Dew-infused pickles.

James Lamprey, the host of “Fun Foods” on social media, shared his recipe for the pickles, and the video was shared on the website Southern Thing, which says the snack “doesn’t sound that bad.”

“If you’ve ever wished your Mountain Dew had a crunch to it or that your pickles were a bit more sugary, this might be the perfect snack for you. All you really have to do is combine pickle juice, your Mountain Dew flavor of choice and sugar together. After that, just let your pickles soak in the mixture, and you’re ready to get snackin’.”

If you think this is a serious case of quarantine brain, you’d be wrong. The original video in question was actually posted on YouTube back in 2018, which means people have been doing this for years? And if regular Mountain Dew isn’t your thing, you can always try it with Mountain Dew Code Red or Mountain Dew Voltage.

Here’s a look at how it’s done.

The question remains: genius or crazy?

People have been doing this with Kool-aid and pickles for years. Popular further south. Probably where this idea started.

Yeah, I noticed pickles flavored with Kool-Aid in the store a while back (not Kool-Aid branded, but the same idea). That was the first I ever heard of it. It’s the first thing I thought of when seeing this.

A cooking show and The Price is Right five days a week? Where does the man find the time?

I cannot remember the last time I refused to taste something. This would qualify.
