It remains to be seen whether or not five-star center N’Faly Dante will move up to the 2019 class — and if he does, whether or not he’ll come to Kentucky — but the rave reviews continue to pour in after his performance at the Peach Jam. Dante was named Most Valuable Player after leading his team, Mokan Elite, to the title with 22 points (10-17 FG) and 18 rebounds. Rivals’ Eric Bossi was in attendance and weighed in on Dante’s “dominant” run in his Peach Jam recap this morning.
“Nobody played better than five-star center N’Faly Dante,” Bossi wrote. “It’s taken some time for Dante to build up to this point. The Bel Aire (Kan.) Sunrise Christian product who currently ranks No. 9 in the class of 2020 has truly put it all together. He was dominant protecting the rim, dominant cleaning the glass and dominant scoring on the interior. Most likely, Dante is going to end up enrolling for the 2019-20 season and he sure looks ready to help right away if that ends up being the case. If he doesn’t elect to make his way to either LSU, Kentucky or Oregon, then he’s made a pretty strong case to be moved into the top five nationally in 2020.”
So, when will we know if Dante’s reclassifying? He told our own Jack Pilgrim last week he’s still working on some online coursework to move up. For what it’s worth, Corey Evans logged a pick in LSU’s favor on Rivals’ version of the Crystal Ball on Sunday.
While we wait to see what N’Faly will do, watch him battle Jalen Green’s team in the finals:
