Miss USA’s Sunday Morning Wakeup

katiegeorge

Good morning friends.  It’s odd seeing you this early in the morning, but I think I can get used to this wakeup thing pretty quickly.

I’ve actually been looking forward to this day for quite some time.  A friend of mine, Louisville’s Katie George, is competing to become Miss USA tonight on the Reelz Channel (DirecTV channel 238).  I usually tune in to the event regardless, but it’ll be pretty cool seeing someone I know up on stage.  Katie’s always been easy on the eye, but I believe the UofL volleyballer will take home the crown because she’s not your typical pageant girl.  She boasts about her eating habits, isn’t afraid to joke on you, or talk trash to the competition.  I know she is a Cardinal, but if there was ever a moment to reach across the aisle for support, tonight is the night.

My friends and I were worried Donald Trump’s immigration-bashing was going to crush the dream before it began, before it moved to a channel I’d never heard of.  If you can’t tune in, stick around here because I’ll be Live Blogging from our watch party all night.

The Wimbledon Men’s Final Starts in an Hour

Serena’s Slam yesterday wasn’t much of a surprise, but I don’t think many expected old-man-Federer to make it this far.  He’ll be taking on Novak Djokovic, making it an easy choice for who to cheer for; you MUST cheer for KSR’s most famous guest, Mr. Roger Federer.

The Peach Jam Comes to a Close

The EYBL Peach Jam comes to a close today.  You can watch it all go down on ESPNU, with the Semifinals at 9:00 and the Finals at Noon.

If you don’t really care that much about when these kids are playing, we’ll be standing by with recaps from all of Cal’s recruits.  Don’t forget, amazing stuff can happen.  Like a picture of the 7’6″ Tacko Fall with a 4’8″ cheerleader.

The NBA Summer League Continues

Eight games are on the slate today from Las Vegas featuring plenty of former Wildcats.

4:00- Washington Wizards vs. D-League Stars
4:30- Phoenix Suns (Devin Booker, Archie Goodwin, and Josh Harrellson) vs. Houston Rockets
6:00- Chicago Bulls vs. Toronto Raptors
6:30-Milwaukee Bucks vs. San Antonio Spurs
8:00- Sacramento Kings (WCS and Deandre Liggins) vs. Denver Nuggets
8:30- Golden State Warriors vs. Atlanta Hawks
10:00- Portland TrailBlazers vs. Dallas Mavericks (Darius Miller)
10:30- Philadelphia 76ers vs. Boston Celtics (James Young)

You NEED To Watch This NOW

If you don’t lose your mind from the new Superman vs. Batman trailer that was released at Comic-Con, than you should probably head to the ER because you don’t have a pulse.

The HBO Shows can Wait

I know True Detective and Ballers are airing during the Miss USA pageant but trust me, it’s OK to wait and watch on HBO Go.  I wait every two weeks for another episode of True Detective because I can’t stand to watch just one at a time.  That means you shouldn’t tell me what happened in last week’s episode or I will try my best to publicly shame you.

Power Move of the Weekend Goes To…

When T. Swift does things, she does it big.  Her concert Friday night at The Meadowlands featured the World Cup Champion United States Women’s National Team.  I’m pretty sure this is a reenactment of one of my dreams.

Donald Trump’s immigration-bashing? Call it want you want……but he pretty much nailed it.

Nice post until the Taylor Swift thing. I can’t stand her. She’s not as irritating as that Gaga, but still…

Why are beauty pageants still a thing? They’re ridiculous.

I didn’t totally agree with Trump’s wording. It is not “immigrant bashing” when they are here illegally.

Am I the only one who appreciates the perfect height of that cheerleader??
