Memphis Man Shot After Arguing: “Is Penny Hardaway a Good Basketball Coach?”

Justin Ford | USA Today
A basketball argument got way out of hand in Memphis, sending one man to the hospital.
Memphis first responders well called to the scene July 3 after a man was shot in the chest. According to WREG, the man was shot by his cousin after the two intensely argued if Memphis Tigers head basketball coach Penny Hardaway was in fact a good coach.
The victim told police that he was inside the home when he got into a fight with his cousin over whether or not Hardaway was a good coach. The verbal altercation escalated and that’s when Tyrone Taylor allegedly punched the man in the face before pulling out a gun and firing.
Taylor has seen been taken into custody and charged with multiple crimes, including second-degree murder.
Is Penny Hardaway in fact a good basketball coach? That’s up for debate, just do it at your own risk.

Time will tell…..
Yawn, another day in Memphis.
Well he is good at making it rain.
The victim was obviously arguing against Penny being a good coach. Rational people don’t shoot others over such an argument or actually think Penny could ever coach anything more organized than AAU run-and-gun “basketball.”
And “second degree murder?” Did the victim die or does TN just have some REALLY f’ed up laws?
That should read ATTEMPTED second degree murder.
I wondered if it should have been “attempted” or “second degree assault.”
I was wondering how he gave an account of events to police if he had been murdered. Guess he could have, much like Penny will be soon, on his way out.
Weird. Thought BLM.
Not shocking to say the least.
Maybe he thinks it’s a video game and person thinks they don’t die and start over
He was also a convicted felon
Somewhere Han is trying to figure out a way to blame Trump for this! Systemic racism must be it. Yea that’s it!
And mashbum is trying to find a way to make Cal look worse than Penny.
There is more than enough justifiable blame with him already, and it’s not laughable.
Thank you for speaking the truth!
He is one of the top 5 coaches in Memphis.
Lol…Is he really?
Of all the coaches in Memphis, he’s one of them.
He is no Dana Kirk!
That’s so Memphis.
Police say they arrived just in time as the assailant had fired up his bbq pit and was lathering the victim in sauce.
Nick Rouch..after many typos in your articles…Are you, in fact, a good writer?
