The city (Lexington) really learned from that first big snow last winter. Stayed home on Friday, but by early Saturday, roads were great.

    Matt,
One of your most loyal fans and listeners Madeline, @madeline_UK , broke her wrist this weekend and is having surgery this morning. I know it would mean soo much to her if you could please give her a shout out today on the show. She is in surgery right now, but I know she will listen to today’s show on podcast later today, and it will make her turn red and smile. Thanks so much.

If a dead possum exploded in a bucket of chum, the resulting smell would be better than a KY Joe song.

Gary’s song is legitimately worse than any Ky Joe song. Amazing.

I also thought that was an impossible feat. Gary has proved us all wrong.

Pretty sure that Bevin could get information about the snow through a phone. Unless you thought the the Governorship should be suspended and shout at the sky…..

Matt Bevin could have, should have, would have…. Either way Kentucky has got what they voted for. ANYONE who isn’t happy with what we have should have done their part to make sure the person they would be happy with, got voted in.

You Kentucky democrats are hilarious. It’s not ‘should have.’ He did. Kentucky responded. You are a dying party state-wide. You’ve bet your whole load on Louisville and 1/2 of Lexington.

To me, Trump seems like little more than a Dr. Seuss character incarnate. I just can’t fathom how anyone can think he is a serious candidate to lead the most powerful nation on earth. Surely the Republican Party can put forth a better candidate. Not a fan of Hillary either, and just can’t picture Sanders as a president. Wish a viable third party candidate would emerge. I think the majority of Americans could get behind a candidate who is level headed, but would actually put the interests of the middle class ahead of getting their palms greased by wealthy special interests of pandering to those who spend their lives living off the Government Cheese.

This seems like the perfect time for a good candidate that isn’t part of either party. If only there were one…

Trump’s comments a few days ago about being able to shoot someone without losing his supporters struck me as chillingly arrogant. It reminded me of Andy Griffith’s character, Lonesome Rhodes, in the film “A Face in the Crowd”. In that film, he insulted his followers in a similar way.

“I think the majority of Americans could get behind a candidate who is level headed, but would actually put the interests of the middle class ahead of getting their palms greased by wealthy special interests”

Do you realize you just described Bernie Sanders? He could also be considered a third party candidate since he only became a Democrat to run for President.

Sanders is an avowed Socialist. Why would we elect the very evil we spent most of the last century defeating? There are a lot of bodies at Arlington because men died to prevent people with Bernie Sanders’ beliefs from controlling us.

There is no method to the madness on what gets moderated. It’s an automated system (I think) and there don’t seem to be any rules or consistency to it. It’s very frustrating.

Its 2016, we have the capability to communicate globally instantaneously. Why should it matter if the governor is sitting in his house in Frankfort, watching it snow, directing operations or doing something in another state that has implications of jobs here in Kentucky. If you ask me its nice to have a Governor who can do 2 things at once. He was on the phone with operations late into the night Saturday night. Would you be happier if Bevin had gotten into a Dept. of Transportation truck and plow your neighborhood?

    • Sentient Third Eye

Excellent post! The governor of Kentucky makes about $129,000 a year. That’s a lot to pay a guy driving a plow!

Rupp Arena is starting to get embarrassing as more fans come from other lesser programs to visit and find that the home of the vaunted Wildcats is much worse than their team’s new, updated arena.

It’s cyclical. When we finally get our upgrades, we’ll have the new and theirs will be worn in.

    • ukkatzfan

I am one who dislikes Rupp Arena. It seems more of a dungeon than anything resembling a good place to play basketball. And that observation is from the last time I attended a game in ’98. I have seen no use to return. And I surely have not seen why the powers to be throw good money after bad into it. Hint: bulldozer.
