So the Kroger Plus Card will get you priority entrance into the UK games. In honor of our football games being associated with a retail grocer’s gimmick, the team will only run gimmick plays this year.
    1.The double coupon reverse
    2.The Kroger buttermilk flapjack toss
    3.The express lane jet sweep
4.The old cleanup on aisle 9 drop kick
    5.The uscan hook and ladder
    6.The coinstar statue of liberty
7.In honor of the old coal company store flickers…..yes, the flea flicker.

Thanks, but as you can probably tell….I’m not too happy about this.
I didn’t even know about the prescription thing, which brings up the
Kroger Pharmacy drive thru QB sneak.

That mock-up of the logo on the field that came out a while back is the worst part for me.

Another good one, J-D. And you’re right Realme…the logo thing is terrible.

      don’t forget the defense:

      * the manager’s special meat sack
      * the 6 pack pick six
      * The cart corrall zone defense
      * click list pregame scouting

He did improve over the course of the season last year, so I think the trend will continue.

The difference (I hope) between close win Ky and close loss Ky is more about depth and experience than randomness imo. I think we’ve crossed into a territory where more things go our way, because we are better at the little things. Hopefully less games will be very close.

    • J-Dub421
      10:30 am August 4, 2017 Permalink

I think experience will help the team handle adversity better as well. If you’ve seen/experienced it before then you know how (and how not) to handle things. This is also an area where I think Stephen Johnson’s unflappable calm helps quite a bit.

Here’s something i hope we don’t hear all season, Barker should be Quarterback.

    • Realme

Oh you will. Unless he becomes the qb. Then fans will start demanding Hoak.

The most popular player is always the back-up QB.

    • runningunnin.454

Barker will get plenty of opportunities to show what he can do. SJ tweaks his ankle, or needs some breathers. Actually the contrast of the two QB’s might be an advantage.
But you’re right, SJ is our QB.

I used to think UNC would get off scott free. I now think they will get smacked by the NCAA. The NCAA HAS to punish UNC or they open a huge loophole/can of worms for every other team in the NCAA. They will also create anarchy and completely lose their ability to enforce anything with any school. It will be the end of the NCAA as an entity if they let UNC slide.

    • runningunnin.454

Can you imagine how psst UL and Syracuse would be if UNC gets off.

I assumed they were going to get away with it, until Louisville got vacated. They set a tone there, that I think will continue. They grew tired of being an impotent punchline. Hopefully.

Austin Mac is so cool under pressure and consistently good that I literally don’t worry AT ALL that he will make the field goal unless it’s longer than 50 yards. Even then I don’t worry a lot.

    • Realme
      10:58 am August 4, 2017 Permalink

If he’s going to miss, it won’t be when a game’s on the line.

    • runningunnin.454
      10:59 am August 4, 2017 Permalink

The FG that beat UL was 47 yards, and it wasn’t even close. The Miss State FG was 51 yards. Both came at crunch time, and he was as cool as if they were in practice.

    • J-Dub421
      10:59 am August 4, 2017 Permalink

I can only think of maybe two field goals he miss all of last season, and they were usually earlier in games. Austin is clutch under pressure at the end of games.

Who does Tennessee have at QB now? Dobbs graduated and he was the one who was killing us the last couple of years. Miss State had a huge dropoff after Dak Prescott left.

    • runningunnin.454

They have a junior, Quintin Dormady and a redshirt freshman. Dormady can throw and has been back-up for a couple of years.

  10. J-Dub421

To the best of what I remember Doron Lamb has the highest career 3 point shooting percentage at UK.

As a commenter on another thread pointed out, it’s when you differentiate between shooting and scoring that the conversation gets more complicated.

    • J-Dub421
      11:16 am August 4, 2017 Permalink

If the game is on the line and we need a three to win, then I’d still want Aaron Harrison or Malik Monk. I feel like they were the most clutch under pressure.

    • ukjaybrat
      11:18 am August 4, 2017 Permalink

agree with jdub. if malik had davis/mkg inside, i think he would have had a lot more open looks and would have been much more efficient. something i think doron and darius benefitted from much more than anyone else on the list.

    • Realme
      11:18 am August 4, 2017 Permalink

My gut is to go with Murray, but Aaron is the one that made the shots when it mattered most, so he wins for me.

    • J-Dub421

Put Murray on a better team, and he would get more open looks, so not a bad choice.

    • J-Dub421
      11:25 am August 4, 2017 Permalink

Terrence Jones is a pretty decent shooter actually. Ryan knows nothing. 32% at UK and just under 30% as a pro.
