Marvin Bagley will Visit UK, but Duke is up First

Scout

The top-ranked player in America has Kentucky on his radar, but John Calipari has a few others in front of him in line for Marvin Bagley’s services.

After leading his team to its first Peach Jam victory, Bagley said he is visiting Duke after the tournament.  Coach K watched Bagley’s win from near midcourt court alongside Jeff Capel.  Krzyxewksxki had some NBA help too.  During pregame warm-ups, he chatted it up with Tyus Jones.  The biggest name watching Bagley’s game was Kevin Durant.  If you really want to hate KD, he gave Coach K some dap as he left the court.

Bagley said he’s still considering the Cats, but they aren’t on the short list of schools he is visiting in the near future.  After a trip to Duke, the West Coast kid will take visits to Arizona and USC.  He plans on visiting UK, but has nothing planned in the immediate future.

It will be a battle for John Calipari, but it’s worth the fight.  The 6’11” athlete does things few others can.  A lefty that can finish with a floating finesse or a powerful slam, he’s been compared to the MVP who watched his game today, Kevin Durant.  The lanky No. 35 doesn’t just look the part, he plays like it.

Cal has missed out on the alpha dogs as of late. Fox and Monk may have turned out to be the closest thing since Julius Randle in ’14. Even though Kentucky will not lose as many guys to the NBA as Cal is accustomed to, but missing out on those guys this year (Bagley, Williamson, Bol, Langford AND Reddish) may be catastrophic. CATS

Fox and Monk were for sure. And Towns is better than Randle by far. Did you forget about him? We will at least get 1 of the 5 you mentioned..maybe 2.

One more thing. Knox and Diallo have the potential to be top 10 picks as well. Knox could be top 5. And I think people are sleeping on Washington.

Towns was the number 1 pick in the draft, too. Oh, and Booker is one of the top young players in the league. Towns is a future HOF.

Wanted to ask if Bagley has superior SAT and or ACT scores?

Karl Towns was the kind of recent coup for KENTUCKY that should long resonate (not to discount the others including Anthony Davis, et al, who were incredible contributors and successful at the Pro level).

The kid – and the program – must weigh and balance.

CAL and ‘Sandy Bell’ have well-represented.

Exactly, Reuben. I think Towns is right there with Davis.

I was talking more right out of high school, so KAT was like ranked what, 9-12 in most services. And when you have to platoon, you obviously don’t have a killer (they wouldn’t accept sitting the bench half the game). Top 3-5 ALPHA DOG, Kentucky has not had lately.

KAT was rated as high as #2 (247) and as low as 9. He was a top 5 player on average coming in. Fox was ranked from 2-6. Monk was around 6-10. So Fox was an Alpha Dog coming in by your own definition. Not that it matters.

      Porter, Ayton, Bamba…

      Tatum, Jackson, Ball or Fultz…

      Simmons, Ingram, Brown, SKAL (rankings-wise)…

      Okafor and Jones (obviously), Russell…

      Parker, Wiggins, RANDLE…

Of course we’ve missed a lot but Cal almost always has the top class regardless. Towns and Fox are both great. Diallo and Knox have great potential. Towns is better than everyone on your list btw. I think we probably have the best chance with Zion next year. Bol is still a possibility too.

Trey Lyles was ranked higher than KAT…

Lol, yeah by ESPN. KAT was rated higher on every other service. KAT was #2 on 247 and #4 on Scout. Lyles was 11th. Just shows how off ESPN was.

And all that matters is KAT turned out to be the best of them all. Knox has a similar upside this year. But our class is very deep and next years should be the same. I think we will get 1-2 of the top 10 guys at least.

Oh, and Towns was #5 on Rivals. Lyles was 13. Like I said Towns was a top 5 player by most services.

So he wants to save the best ’til last….what’s wrong with that? Actually I would bet he stays in the West.
KAT has been mentioned….don’t forget Cal coached him in international ball, so there’s that.
I would like to get Cam Reddish, Bol Bol, and possibly Romeo.
Also, RJ Barrett will probably reclassify to 2018, and Cal has done well recruiting Canadians.
    Also, Williamson is possible.

We will get 4-5 top 25 players and 1-2 top 10 I’d say. Williamson, Quickley, Bol, RJ, King, and the guy from Nashville would make a stellar class.

I am confident as well. One interesting factor is that many so-called experts have said this year’s class is not as good as past classes, and many will not be one-and-done.
So the ’18 recruits will take into consideration who stays at the blue blood schools for a second year…they always do.

I don’t like coach K and the first few times KSR misspelled his name on purpose it was funny. But at this point, either spell it correctly or just type “K”. I really don’t want to rag on KSR, but it is sort of obnoxious at this point.

And so, without cheating now….spell it correctly for us. Then spell it before he shortened it. Ha Ha.

Obnoxious? Not really. Juvenile ? Decidedly.
      Still hilarious? Affirmative.
