Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Marco Rubio talked Patrick Towles, Donald Trump and other key issues on KSR

Kentucky Sports Radio had its first ever Presidential candidate on the show this morning when United States Senator Marco Rubio called in to chat with the guys.

Rubio, fresh off watching the Pope address the joint session of Congress, opened up his KSR interview by telling our listeners, “Patrick Towles has a rocket of an arm.”

“All I know is he can throw the ball,” Rubio, a Florida fan, told BBN. “I don’t know if he’s accurate or can do it consistently, but that guy can throw the football.”

The discussion then changed to Kentucky basketball and Billy Donovan leaving the Florida program. Rubio believes Donovan made the right move to test the NBA and Donovan will find success with the Thunder.

Once the sports talk was out of the way, things shifted toward the Presidential race, specifically Donald Trump. Rubio took some not-so-subtle shots at Trump, saying he is “not well-informed” and can only speak in 10 second sound bites on key issues. Shots fired.

All in all, it was a great interview and kudos to Rubio for not dodging a single question.

What a chump. This country needs a real leader, someone who can help take back our country from the socialist, illegals, and stupid pc media. That’s why I’m voting Trump.

Voting for Trump would be like hiring a football coach who knows nothing about offense, defense, or special teams but he’s good at screaming really loud and insulting people.

You think the CEO of Coke knows how to make it? Trump is a CEO, and America needs to be ran like a business.

    • Hahaha!

Trump also ran several of his own businesses into the ground. He just borrowed more money to get himself back to where he is (basically a bailout).

No. Trump. No. Who’s next, Jerry Springer?

Four of Trump’s businesses have declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Trump’s first corporate bankruptcy was in 1991 when Trump Taj Mahal was unable to pay its obligations. Forbes indicated that his first bankruptcy was the only one where his personal wealth was involved. On November 2, 1992, the Trump Plaza Hotel filed a prepackaged Chapter 11 protection plan. The third corporate bankruptcy was on October 21, 2004, when Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts announced a restructuring of its debt. Trump Hotels was forced to seek voluntary bankruptcy protection to stay afloat. The most recent corporate bankruptcy occurred in 2009. On February 13, Trump announced that he would resign from the board of Trump Entertainment Resorts and four days later the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Trump Entertainment Resorts filed again for bankruptcy in 2014.

YEAH, America needs to be ran like a Donald Trump business.

I thought Rubio was spot on about Trump. I appreciate that Trump has zero cares about being politically correct. He speaks his mind without a care in the world. It is something that this country could use more of without fear of offending someone. However, I thought Rubio hit the nail on the head when he said that Trump isn’t well informed and all he does is insult people. He says he wants to make America great again, yet does not give any plan as to how he intends to do so. Rubio ’16

Yes, Trump speaks his mind and shows he doesn’t have much of one as far as having even the most basic knowledge of the issues. That’s his cover for it. At first it was entertaining but it is getting a bid old.

This guy killed it – from a political perspective, it was “uncanned” and authentic, and he was real – i honestly haven’t heard him this comfortable in a long time. Really good segment – if he could actually replicate this in national forums, he’d climb quicker.

Sen Rubio speaks well and makes sense. I believe he means what he says, and that’s worth much.
The only person on this planet who agrees with me 100% is me, so I will support a candidate whom I trust, and whom I believe has some basic necessary leadership skills. Whether Rubio is my first choice now or not, he’s credible for the job.

Trump takes narcissism to new heights! Seriously he has serious self-esteem and ego issues with immaturity mixed in. I am sure Trump is a good business man, but he really has some serious emotional issues. Ask any Ph.D. in the field and they will tell you. Do we really want someone with serious issues with their figure on the nuclear button? Think about it. Also, I agree, he really has no knowledge of the issues of the world. Come on people, you seriously believe he would make a good President?
