had a discussion abotu who will be better in the nba. fox or monk.
I really think they will both be great. but it really depends on what you need? need a shooter and high volume scoring? go with monk. need a distributor that can also attack the rim? go with fox.
They will both grow defensively and fox’s shooting will improve (his biggest weakness). no reason to think they can’t both be amazing wherever they go

I thought Fox’s shooting improved towards the end of the season (the last month or so). It could improve more, but he’s already made strides.

Have you read any of John Higgins’ interviews? He’s a pompous a$$, and I’m not going to lose any sleep no matter what happens to him. He thinks the world revolves around him.
Neither will I condemn Cal, KSR, or any of the UK fans that did..whatever.
    It’s a free country….mostly.
As far as I know, no one has harmed a single highlighted hair on his head. Much ado about nothing.

Obviously he likes the attention, or he wouldn’t still be talking about it. He’s the one bringing it up now.

just a couple. he seems incredibly bitter about the whole thing and that he was in the right the entire time. which we will never know because no one is ever allowed to question the officiating under the current structure (which is wrong btw)

it;s irritating mostly because he seems bitter directly at uk even though we know his beef is with cal. but only at uk, even though we know for a fact that referees get this treatment all the time. apparently he just messed around with the biggest fan base and is now butthurt about it. maybe had he called a better game it wouldn’t be that big of a deal. i don’t mind my team losing. but when they lose as a direct result of your incompetency? that’s a different story altogether.

      10:38 am April 5, 2017 Permalink

Deep down I think he knows he called a crappy game, likely because of his bias against Cal, and can’t handle being challenged on it. Higgins thinks he’s infallible. He’s not. He doesn’t like having his incompetency put on display/blast for all the world to see.

again it’d be one thing if you called a crappy game and then fessed up to it. he genuinely thinks he did everything right even though there is a mountain of evidence of his missed calls all over the internet. i understand missing one or two plays here and there because of the action being bang bang. but a lot of what he missed was very very blatant. and a lot of the calls he DID incorrectly make, he was in no position to see the foul he called. just … bad.

Higgins waited to make several calls until the outcome of the play had turned in Kentucky’s favor. *See the Derek Willis loose ball foul. Higgins didn’t make that call until after Derek tipped the ball to Isaac and Isaac firmly had possession and was going to pass up court. It was a terrible call, and it was late. That to me shows obvious bias.

He also didn’t call a blatant hard foul by (I think Meeks) on Hawkins when it was right in front of him. Another official from halfway across the court called it because it was so obvious. Again, blatant bias by Higgins.

There are several more examples. The other two refs weren’t as bad, but Higgins basically only called fouls on us and let UNC do whatever.

Finished the S-Town podcast this morning before KSR. Not bad. Got a little weird and graphic toward the end I thought though.

i listened to the first two chapters this morning over coffee while i was checking email. so basically the intro and the first real big plot twist. I was JUST starting to lose interest until then. i’m guessing here is where it starts getting really good. I’m borderline A.D.D. though so it’s hard to keep me on the same page.

You’ll have a “whoa!” moment or two around the last few chapters…without giving it all away. It was almost too much for me. LOL

An Alabama fan poisoned Auburn’s trees.

Oklahoma and Texas fans get into fights with each other that land people in the hospital.

We are not the only fan base with nut jobs.

The BBN has some crazies for sure, but I find it hard to believe at least one of those idiots threatening Higgins wasn’t a fan of another rival school just doing so to make our fan base look bad.

Some fans went overboard, and people should not have contacted Higgins, and especially shouldn’t have done death threats. However, if UK fans don’t voice some outrage over Higgins crappy biased officiating, then who will??? I’m tired of sitting back and taking it. The NCAA clearly isn’t going to hold him accountable.

    • runningunnin.454

The NCAA obviously considers Higgins one of their best….that shows just how deep the officiating problem is.

that’s kind of why i had the c’est la vie attitude i did originally. umpires, officials, and referees in every sport are immune to the mistakes they make every single day. and it’s unfair to a lot of people if those “mistakes” are a result of being influenced by some inherent bias. But as you said, they answer to no one. As long as we have the system we have. clowns like higgins will continue to let their personal agendas influence how they call a game. a better person would inform their superiors “look i have a beef with cal, i probably shouldn’t be calling his games”…. but not him. he’s infallible.

    • J-Dub421
      11:30 am April 5, 2017 Permalink

He’s made too many glaring, obvious “mistakes” always against us for it not to be on purpose, or the result of bias. He should never ref a UK game again.

NCAA deserves a lot of the blame as well. How on earth do you put Higgins in the Final Four after our game? I think that make it a bigger story and didnt need to happen… the referees that worked the championship really didnt help either.

    • J-Dub421

The NCAA doesn’t care as long as they keep making money.
