Malik Monk had a “good visit” to Kentucky

Malik Monk, Cal, Marcus Monk

Yesterday, 2016 shooting guard Malik Monk took an unofficial visit to Kentucky, and his older brother, Marcus (who played football and basketball at Arkansas), tells ZagsBlog that it was a “good visit”: “It was a good visit. We just toured the campus, watched practice, that was pretty much it.”

Monk, an Arkansas native, is friends with fellow Arkansan and former Cat Archie Goodwin. Archie recently tweeted that he thinks Malik will be “something special,” and hopefully, Malik will follow in his footsteps in turning down home state Arkansas for the Cats. Currently, the Razorbacks hold a 62%/38% lead over the Cats in Malik’s Crystal Ball.

Watch him work, and read the rest of his brother’s comments about the visit at ZagsBlog:

    Hardly a ringing endorsement.

I didn’t realize Marcus is Malik’s older brother. He was a great WR for Arky. Kinda surprised he didn’t make it in the NFL. Smart dude if I recall as well. Hope Malik is smart too and joins the program that can best prepare him for the NBA and life in general – UK.

I just thought the same thing. Marcus was a stud at Arkansas. He still looks like he could suit up.

“I’m so glad I went to Arkansas! They really helped prepare me for the NBA!”, said no one ever.

Arky has a projected lotto pick in the 15 draft.

projected doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.

Please Archie convince the kid Cal will best prepare him for a lucrative NBA career.

Yeah that was a good one…if you are a moron. Cal stated that Archie needed one more year in order to have a better career, Archie ignored him. But hey, he’s still in the NBA making more than you.

Monk will be in an interesting position having seen Archie leave Arkansas to play for an out-of-state school and observing the reaction to that. I wonder if that will factor in at all when he decides.

Shooting guard? He can dunk but can he shoot? Inquiring minds would like to know.
