Congratulations to Makayla Epps who was just named to the Preseason All-SEC team. The junior guard was named to the six-member roster today after a panel of SEC and national media members voted.
Last season, Epps ranked 8th in the SEC averaging 14.3 points per game, as well second in field-goal percentage at .413.
As I posted on Saturday, Epps is currently serving a suspension that will prevent her from playing in both women’s hoops preseason game and the first game of the season. However, Matthew Mitchell is incredibly proud of how she has reacted during her suspension and believes that she will be at the top of women’s college basketball this season.
On a side-note: along with the All-SEC team being named today, the Preseason SEC Media Poll was also released today with UK projected to finish fifth in the league with 205 votes. The 2015 SEC champion South Carolina is currently leading the pack (they also have three members on the All-SEC team).
