Mad Scoops to Offer DanceBlue Ice Cream All Year

ukbball_db12

If I haven’t made it clear on this site before, let me do so now. There are few things in this world that mean more to me than DanceBlue. As someone who participated in DanceBlue when I was a student at UK, the cause and the event are near to my heart. KSR has been supportive of DanceBlue for years as well, so why not throw a shameless plug to one of the best philanthropy events in the country.

For those who don’t already know, DanceBlue is UK’s 24-hour, no sitting, dance marathon that has raised over $8 million since 2006. All of the money that is raised through DanceBlue is donated to the Golden Matrix Fund, which then works to support the kids of the DanceBlue Kentucky Children’s Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic, as well as research done at the Markey Cancer Center.

Last week, Mad Scoops: Custom Ice Cream shop announced a new flavor being sold to benefit DanceBlue called the DanceBlue Cookie Monster.

In what was originally advertised as a one night fundraiser, it was announced today that Mad Scoops has teamed with DanceBlue to offer this flavor throughout the year to benefit the marathon.

So why not stop on in to Mad Scoops: Custom Ice Cream and try the new flavor and support a great cause at the same time! The Lexington store is located at 399 Waller Ave. Head over, get a scoop and let me know what you think because I’m already planning my next trip to Lexington around Mad Scoops’ hours. Eat up For The Kids everyone!
