Maci Morris has returned from Italy safe and sound

Finally, some good news: Maci Morris has returned home from Italy. The former Kentucky Women’s Basketball star plays for USE Scotti Empoli, but her season was cut short due to the coronavirus outbreak that is crippling the country. This morning, she tweeted that she is back in Bell County and quarantining herself until further notice.

Outside of China, Italy is the country hit hardest by the coronavirus. As of this morning, there have been over 1,000 deaths and over 15,000 people infected. The entire country is on lockdown, which makes the news that Morris made it home safely even more of a relief.

WKYT did an interview with Morris earlier this week, which you can see below. Hopefully, she can call into the show next week to tell us more about her experience.

Glad to see one of our stars back home and safe. Proud of the way she represents the commonwealth.

Thanks to Italy and universal healthcare, their government has ordered hospitals not to treat elderly patients. Reason the death rate is so high there. Universal Healthcare in action folks.
