Lynn Bowden Commits to KENTUCKY

Screen Shot 2017-01-14 at 2.15.08 PM

Four-star athlete Lynn Bowden announced he will be a Kentucky Wildcat.  The nation’s No. 5 athlete and No. 160 prospect overall chose Kentucky over Penn State and West Virginia.

The Youngstown-native was recruited by a pair of Youngstown’s finest, Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow.  Bowden becomes the 23rd player in the 2017 class.  The highest-ranked player in the class, Kentucky’s Top 25 class should become a Top 20 class, jumping the likes of Florida and Arkansas in the process.

Bowden was this year’s Mr. Ohio runner-up, falling just short to former UK commit Michael Warren.  Still, Bowden’s senior statistics are ridiculous: 2,277 rushing yards, 1,366 passing yards and 57 total touchdowns.  Bowden finished his career with 4,178 rushing yards.  In his four years he broke almost every school record held by Ohio State’s National Championship-winning running back Maurice Clarett.  Watch how he racked up some of those statistics.

Stay tuned for more on what Bowden’s announcement means to Kentucky.

A great pickup, if all the recruits sign loi, has to be considered the best class in football. Very balanced class with line commitments and skill positions. With more to follow?

Welcome to BBN, great to have you here and looking forward to watching you play.
In response to whatwasthat-Will probably be a top 5 to 8 class in the SEC and top 20 in football, no where close to top in all of college football. But that is life in the SEC and Stoops and staff have done an incredible job of getting talent to UK. Really hope all of them follow through and sign. UK Athletics please send us the renewals for season tix.

BNN, was referring to UK football classes, left that out. Wish we could challenge the top programs for the top class. Always laugh at the basketball fans that post on here with, you still finished 11th or whatever in the SEC. big difference in having the 20th rated class and 69th rated class and finishing in lower half of SEC.

It’s been a while since I’ve wished we could skip past basketball season and just start the next football season now.
