Louisville’s seven NBA players almost beat Puerto Rico last night

pitino-suck

Louisville led Puerto Rico by double-digits in last night’s game, but squandered the lead and eventually lost by eight in overtime. Damion Lee had a three-point try late in regulation to win it, but it did not fall.

Ron Mercer would’ve hit it.

At one point in the game, Rick Pitino, upset with the officials, told the Louisville bench, “That was a perfect block. You’re in Rupp Arena now, guys.”

No, if they were in Rupp Arena, they would’ve been down 20.

With the loss, Louisville and its seven future NBA players dropped to 0-5 against Puerto Rico on the week. It should be 0-6, but Pitino canceled a Thursday morning game to hold a practice.  There is talk he may pull out of another over the weekend, which is surprising because he’s never been the type to pull out of anything.

Never forget…

… waiting for the butthurt louisville fans pretending to be angry uk fans posting that all we ever talk about is Louisville sucking and they want more uk coverage even though we are in the middle of a time of year that really has no UK updates

I’m waiting for the angry U of L fans who were on here a couple of days ago trying to tell me that they’re better than we were last year and are playing a higher level of competition than we played on our Bahamas trip last summer. You know, since we beat this same Puerto Rican team twice by more than 20 points each time.

Not saying UofL is playing better than UK at this point last year, but they are playing far better competition. The Puerto Rican team that played in the Pan Am games is very different than this team which is trying to qualify for the Olympics. In fact, the only starter on the current Puerto Rican team that played in the Pan Am games is JJ Barea. The Puerto Rican team UK played last year wasn’t even close to the same team. I don’t think that team had a single pro on it. The Dominican team that UK lost to also didn’t have a single active pro on it.

So, what Duh is saying, is that this Louisville team should go at least 39-1.

They should try to crack the Top 25, first.

It’s mostly the same PR team with quite a few of the same players. Also, one of the teams U of L is playing is their JUNIOR national team, and you can’t even beat them. UK lost one game on our trip last year to the Dominican Republic, by 1 point, and it was our 6th game in 8 days. Our players were gassed. Other than that, we blew those teams out.

Mostly the same PR team but without 4 of 5 starters. I would love to see what UK, UofL, or any team for that matter would look like without 4 of 5 starters. UK would be absolute trash this year (as would UofL). And the Junior team played UofL’s “junior” team. UofL’s “junior” team started 3 walk-ons and played mostly freshmen who have never played together.

I’m willing to bet that UK wouldn’t have lost every game against the PR teams. Just sayin….

We lost all five starters from last season’s team, but we’ll still be good enough to stomp Louisville this season.

You know, people think UK and Louisville hate each other, but the truth is we love #littlebrother and sincerely want them to be almost as great as they say they are**. And for Cards fans to shower once in a while.

**They won’t be better than us, no matter how hard they try. Let’s not set them up for failure!

Isn’t this the same Puerto Rico team that in the Pan Am games lost to the USA by 32, who in turn lost to Canada, who had our very own Jamal Murray as one of it’s top players?

No, this is the Olympic qualifying team, which is much different and better than the team that was playing in the Pan Am games.

About half the roster is the same as the team that played in the Pan Am games.

Louisville local news has never reported why these games are not televised and the courteous journal never has a clue so why no TV coverage ?ul athletic department is full of fools I guess?

This Puerto Rico deal has been the worst failure of Pitino’s career. Pitino just can’t motivate a person who has any soul or spirit left. That’s what happens freshman year at UL, he crushes his player’s desire to live. Th PR players hate him so much that it took wanting to kick his UL team’s ass to motivate them. L0PR5

Your post might work if it wasn’t for the fact that UK has more guys in the NBA than any other college, and it’s not even close. We have 25 guys on active rosters, UL has 5. LOL. And, UK has many stars and 3 NBA All-Stars. UL has no stars and damn sure no All-Stars. #L1C7…WE OWN YOU

Pitino said his Louisville team would beat his Pan Am team by 10-15 points. The team they took into overtime last night is the team trying to qualify for the Olympics which is better than the Pan Am team. His claim was probably validated last night.

This Puerto Republican team is one of the greatest teams ever assembled in the history of hoops, dawg. Anyone with two eyes can see the talent that team has. The simple fact that Da Ville stayed within striking distance should be a warning to all of college basketball next year. L’S UP!!! We coming for you.

It’s comical how you Cayuts fans are creaming yourselves over this. A) The Olympic team is much better than the Pan Am team, B) this team is a bunch of underclassmen and transfers that have never played together and C) it’s football season. Granted, C means nothing to you, so maybe I understand your genuine concern for “little brother.” Wait, isn’t little brother the one that’s supposed to talk about the other all of the time?
