According to a study by Sharecare, Louisville is the second-heaviest drinking city for men, and the seventh for women. The survey was based on a sample of 250,000 respondents to Sharecare’s RealAge Test assessment, which measures the “biological age” of a person’s body based on health. Based on those results, Sharecare concluded that Louisville is also the oldest city in America:

Considering all of the whiskey distilleries in Kentucky, it’s not a huge surprise that Louisville men are guzzling more drinks than they should. Unfortunately, excessive drinking is one of a handful of unhealthy habits for residents here. This Kentucky town is the oldest city in America according to RealAge Test data.

Here’s the complete list for both men and women:

10 Heaviest-Drinking Cities in America

1. Knoxville, Tenn.
2. Louisville, Ky.
3. Greenville, S.C.
4. Oklahoma City
5. Portland, Ore.
6. Greensboro, N.C.

It helps when the city’s university will serve beer at the ribbon-cutting of a renovated restroom.

Seriously, someone needs to update us on the podcast. Just provide some information on what the hold up is and a general ETA on when it will be fixed and it will go a long way to appease the masses. Basic “psychology of waiting” stuff.

Knoxville is also pretty high on both lists. Maybe we drive our rivals to drink?

Please, in the name of the Almighty above, do not allow one of my daughters to bring home someone who resembles one of those little wannabe cocksmen in that picture. My daughters would most likely have to come visit dear old dad at the LaGrange Reformatory for a while. 🙂

This makes a lot of things much more clear. I’m sure market research told them to give out free drinks to boost attendance for Lady Cards.

Hard for me to believe. Have you ever been to Wisconsin? There are three bars on every block and that is the small towns. I think there is a bar for every 75 people.

We like to pointlessly send Indiana and surrounding states millions of dollars in Casino and alcohol revenue annually because we’re too stupid to figure out prohibition doesn’t work.

There is nothing worse than people being able to buy a beer at a football or basketball game in my opinion. I am so glad that UK has decided to take the moral highground and keep booze out of Rupp and Commonwealth stadium.

If beer was allowed at Rupp, I estimate that you would see 4-5 deaths annually, given the combination of alcohol and the Mt. Everest that is the upper arena. It’s scary enough up there, already.
