Louisville Loses Via Walk-Off Grand Slam

Ouch. Prepare yourselves for what you’re about to see. The Louisville Cardinals, the two seed in the College Baseball playoffs, just lost an absolute heartbreaker to the UCSB Gauchos. The Cards held a 3-0 lead for most of the game and had one out with 3 runners on base when the unthinkable happened. See for yourself:

Listen, I know we don’t have much room to talk considering we didn’t even make the playoffs. So if you see one of your Card buddies tomorrow make sure to offer your condolences.

Go Gauchos, my new favorite college baseball team, besides the cats, of course.

Condolences?! Every year Tard basketball fans rag us if we don’t win the championship with all that talent. They had 8 guys drafted this weekend (7 of the first 115) and get swept in the Super Regionals. No condolences here! Just a better Sunday than it already was!

Probably had some drug related shootings in the parking lot as well. UL is nothing more than an anus with fancy lights and colors. Drug, crime, prostitute and thug infested campuss.

Wow, calm down there, redneck. I hate UL as much as the next guy, but take a step back and reassess your life.

Couldn’t agree more RICKSVD, this made for a nicer day. Great American why does someone have to be a redneck because they disagree with you?

There is no worse way to lose, no bigger stage, nothing more humiliating than the way little brother lost today.
Gotta feel sorry for the pitcher. Man. All that talent and swept at home.
Vegas got a lot of little brother’s money today.

You can feel bad for the Louisville kids; but as for the fan base, what goes around comes around! As a21CATSfan has already pointed out, Louisville fans have given us so much crap every year (except for 2012) that Cal has been here, and we’ve come up short of a championship at the end of the year. Cal’s first year, when we lost to WVU in the Elite Eight; and the loss to Wisconsin in the FF to two years ago really stand out in my mind. Card fans celebrated as much as if their team had won. A lot of them talk about how much they still really enjoy watching the Laettner shot! So, this is their “Laettner moment” for baseball! Enjoy!!!

If I am not mistaken, that is two years in a row that the same pitcher gave up season ending home runs.
But, the Cardinals also left 8 on base and had three thrown out trying to steal.
The guy that hit the HR, had only been to the plate 26 times all season.
Total collapse of the Vegas favorite and highest paid baseball coach ever.
A ton of streaks came down after that HR. Swept at home, wins after leads going into the 9th, home wins, GONE.
No way this could have been worse.
