Louisville beats out Helsinki and Nova Scotia for “Best Destination Experience” crown

The great city of Louisville has been named “Best Destination Experience” of 2016 by the World Food Travel Association. In its new Foodtrekking Awards, the WFTA gave Louisville its “Best Destination Experience” crown over Helsinki, Finland and Nova Scotia, Canada.

According to its website, the Foodtrekking Awards are selected by a panel of five expert judges. The WFTA describes itself as: “a non-profit and non-governmental organization (NGO) recognized as the world’s leading authority on food tourism. Its mission is to drive economic development for the food, drink, travel and hospitality trade.”

Louisville was the only award-winner from the United States among the five categories.

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

I always heard that city didn’t exist. Weird.

Louisville has a ton of amazing restaurants, but is it really better than San Francisco, Chicago, or New York? I don’t think so…

There are several things about the city of Louisville I enjoy…just not the University or their fans.

      Lexington as well.

^ Lexington has some good spots, but it’s not on the same planet as Louisville, as far as a “foodie” city.

funny story, i had a friend of a friend try to get me to drink a crown and coke. and i jokingly made fun of him bc that is the “drink of the card fan.” Really, I just don’t like crown royal. It’s not a very good whiskey. Anyway, the next time i saw him he didn’t like crown anymore,

The WFTA should change its name to the WTF-A! Amiright? Come on, Amiright? Anybody?

It’s true that a uk fan can find nary an establishment in town that serves a good opossum or coon dinner.

Now excuse me while I go celebrate this with a nice tall Crown and Coke.

Well “Scorpio Card,” since it’s coming from someone who makes decisions based on the position of the stars when you were born, you seem like exactly the type of person who’d know where you can and can’t get some good opossum & coon around the state.

Seems easy enough. You can’t in Louisville, and you can anywhere else in the state.

      Amiright?

I sampled a few of the local food trucks, and all their customers were out standing.

In other news of polls with local interest, uk is making a strong push to when the Fulmer Cup for the college football team with the most players in trouble with the law. They are currently ranked #2 in the country.

And here us Louisville fans thought we had the in-state hold on players who are “thugs”. Damn. We are not even ranked.

This is going to require an extra strong Crown and Coke.

I read that, and I love that somebody is watching what is going on. However, they kind of made an error, and @scorpiocard, misspoke as well. Currently we are at number three, with 19 points, accumulated by two players, Taco Meathead, (9 points) and Jason Hatcher (10 points). Since he is no longer part of the team, his points do not count, and UK football total points will be at 9. The 9 points has UK tied for 8th place, and is likely to fall out of the top 10 by the time the season starts.
The trophy for the highest score is called the Fulmer Cup, named for the notorious Phil Fulmer who had so many football players in and out of jail, they just kept them in prison orange.
The SEC leads all conferences in points. This is for football only.
      Go Cats.

I just think it is funny because we hear that constant refrain from uk fans that the U of L football team is full of “thugs”. In reality I think we currently only have two players on the team who have been in trouble with the law. Devante Fields for smacking his girlfriend (a situation that he cleaned up and has been a model citizen since), and James Quick, when he got caught with that uk dope dealer Jason Hatcher, with a small amount of weed.

      Hardly thugs.

Hatchers points still count, because he was on the team when he got busted.

You guys might as well just accept that when it comes to football the best thing for you all to do until your team actually does something is to keep your mouths shut. You always just end up with egg all over your face. On the field or off.

So uk is #2 for the most criminals in college football? I guess this ends that stereotype and starts another.

The WFTA didn’t go far enough south (and west a bit)…Austin Texas is “foodie” heaven! I’ve traveled the world over the last 25 years and Austin is at the top of my list for indulging in all things food!

Great atmosphere as well and the music is awesome at just about any place you go!
