Lots of people showed up to buy Richie’s weapons today

Several people lined up outside the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources headquarters in Frankfort this morning for a state auction. The items up for bid are dozens of high-quality rifles and knives from Richie Farmer’s tenure as state ag commissioner, including some that were specially engraved and intended as gifts for other ag commissioners and their top aides from other states.

Richie’s VCRs and Sega Genesis game consoles were not available.

Look at the damn pictures you idiot… No other team in the country has a former player who became the damn commissioner of AGRICULTURE for gods sake… and then he cant keep himself out of trouble doing complete immature stuff that is just downright embarrassing to the state. And then it is a massive story when HUNDREDS show up to buy his GUNS AND KNIVES…. SERIOUSLY? That is the kind of stuff that makes other teams think we don’t know how to read and we all live shoeless in backwoods cabins. If i didnt live in kentucky I would certainly think we were inbred rednecks (which I currently have to question if we arent given stories like this)…..

How about the fact that our Football team hasn’t beat an in state school in that last 6 games and hasn’t beaten an SEC opponent in almost 1000 days…. or the mere fact that our academics at UK really are garbage in the national comparison.
Or that We are extremely inconsistent in basketball and lost to Robbert Morris in the first round of NIT last year why they were winning it all…
Or the fact that UK has the most NCAA violations of any school in the country…
Think before you speak bro, we have a lot of dirty laundry…

Here we go…libs and their stupid anti-gun rants. I guess hating guns and smoking pot makes you legit and cool these days. Keep smoking libtards, and the rest of society will devour you like a wounded animal on the Serengeti. Besides, I would rather look/sound like a redneck than be a self righteous/white guilt/naive/stoned/god denying liberal know it all.

“Normal, civilized people have no use for firearms…” Yeah, that’s really working out. Ask the poor people in Chicago, DC, NY, and LA. You mean normal and civilized like, celebrities, or politicians. Hell lets disarm the police force. After all, they are ONLY going after the rednecks with guns in the west end of Louisville. Idiot.

If we’re going to get picky, these pictures are obviously “redneck”. But the “inbred” comment is a stretch. I realize the two go hand-in-hand in sometimes when talking about Ky people, but it’s not necessary here. I don’t like guns and I’m not a fan of Richie anymore. But I could see how someone who liked guns and Richie would want these. Barely.

TheTruth…Where did you hear the academics at UK is garbage “in the national comparison” (whatever that means). And sure UL has won the last 3 football games but we had a 4 game winning streak against them before that. Also we lead the all time series over them 14-12. And so what about Robert Morris, the last five years overall have been amazing for UK basketball. And what abut this horse crap about having the most violations? Please source because that is a load of crap.

For my job I work with a lot of statistics, I have come across many charts about University Academics… I have always seen that UK is near the bottom of the list. Look it up if you dont believe me, But for the record… The fact that we have had less than 10 Fulbright scholars in the last decade should be a BIG RED FLAG. UL has had 75 Fulbrights AND a Rhode Scholar in the last decade.
the problem with the Football is that we only beat them cause they had that shitty coach after petrino left… it gets kinda scary when they are moving straight from Strong to Petrino… they are going to have an insane streak on us in no time. I’m a bit worried about that part.
and the NIT thing doesnt really point in the direction of the last five years being good… IDK what your standards are, but they seem a little different from mine.
also…once again.. Just do some research. UK has a NCAA violation for every championship that we have… and then some. It’s not a load of crap… its reality. we have more than anyone. ANd likewise… Cal is the coach with the most in the nation… kinda fitting eh?

EXACTLY… we dont NEED guns any longer because there is a freaking mcdonalds on every streetcorner… there is a nice supermarket in EVERY town just waiting for you to come buy fresh meat and produce.. WHY HUNT? it is outdated and frankly uncivilized behavior for someone to think it is necessary to kill when you have food waiting and ready to eat down the street from you..
GROW UP you rednecks.. think like a human and put down the weapons..

I love that I got you idiots fired up. Yeah ‘The Truth’ Louisville has nothing to make fun of us for, if you want to talk athletics: We have won more games against them in football and basketball. And we’ve owned them this year. Saying we should disregard our wins against them bc they had a bad coach is dumb, bc you could say the exact same thing about almost every time they’ve beat us. And the Robert Morris comment is weak, we’ve won more NC than them and every team has bad seasons, they’ve clearly had more bad season than us if you look at winning percentage. I didn’t say we didn’t have dirty laundry, but they have more. Louisville is the meth capital of KY, even tough they want to call eastern KY methheads. And saying guns have everything to do with redneck/inbred behavior is an insult to the men and women who serve our country and protect us with guns. Oh how is when you throw in the disclaimer *it’s redneck/inbred behavior unless you’re a soldier. You stereotyping idiots are the real inbreds.

“the Truth” statistics or not, Louisville has more and produces more meth than any other place in KY, and I mean that in whole numbers, not percentages. Sure, if you want to look at percentages other places have a higher percentage, but that fact that is in whole Louisville is king of meths so your statistics do not have an effect on that statement. And I don’t need to revise anything, I said this year and this is 2014 and we haven’t played them in the gridiron. But we did play them in basketbal (in the tourney), baseball (twice) , and softball (twice). Who won all those games?

What you have to consider is that the NCAA does not have to prove guilt to anyone or themselves. They simply decide if a school or player is guilty. Besides being a joke, the NCAA has a record of turning their heads when certain schools are involved. See the duke/Piggie/Maggette scandal, the Lance Thomas jewelry loan and UNC Academic Fraud for over 10 years. So if you really believe the NCAA has any credibility with their decisions, sure, you can say we are the most penalized. But with this kind blantant of favortism, is that really that accurate? I think not.

Actually, I never claimed religious beliefs. But to answer your question:

People still hunt for many reasons, but the one you might understand the easiest is to control overpopulation. Why do you think states sell hunting licenses? Because if they didn’t, they would have to PAY employees to hunt deer, squirrels, rabbits, dove, turkeys, etc. to control overpopulation. Or they would have to spend tax payer money on absurd science experiments like “deer birth control” (a real thing, look it up). This way, the state actually makes money and allows citizens to take part in a sport passed down for thousands of years. Is that a good enough reason for you? Probably not because it doesn’t fit into your increasingly more apparent skewed world-view.

You are spewing things that are so wrong, that’s it not even funny. First let’s look at your crap about having a violation for every NCAA or NIT Championship. Please enlighten us with FACTS as to the NCAA violations related to our 1946 NIT Championship, our 1948 NCAA Championship, or 1951 NCAA Championship, our 1958 NCAA Championship, our 1978 NCAA championship, our 1996 NCAA Championship, our 1998 NCAA championship, and our 2012 NCAA Championship. We’re waiting. Remember to use FACTS, champ, not idiotic conjecture.

Secondly, UK’s program is FAR from inconsistent. Here’s a little fact for you. UK has ONE losing season in basketball since 1927. That’s right, ONE. That’s 87 years, champ. How’s that for inconsistent? Further, in the 5 years of the Calipari era, we’ve only gone to 4 Elite-8’s, 3 Final Fours, 2 Championship Games, and have an NCAA title. We have consistently been ranked highly, and have a overall record of 152-37 (.807). These 152 wins in 5 seasons lead the nation during this period. Wow, talk about an inconsistent program!

And lastly, UK is FAR from being the most penalized school in NCAA history. Hell, just off the top of my head, I can tell you that UCLA, Kansas, and Louisville all have more violations than UK. UK has 3, two of which were major (1953 and 1989). Those are the facts. Try and refute them please. Naw, you won’t even bother.

And as for UK, it a OK school overall, and great in certain areas. UK is still the best state school in this state, so if it sucks as bad as you claim, what does that say about the other state schools?

      4:40 pm May 5, 2014 Permalink

Truth. Here is the listing, from Bleacher Report, for schools with the most NCAA violations. Funny, I don’t see UK mentioned.
n the wake of the USC/Reggie Bush scandal, one can’t help but wonder which teams and conferences have had the most sanctions and what were the reasons for them. There are many teams who have committed major infractions, and there have been almost as many types of punishments as there have been rule breakers. Below you will find the list of the teams with the most infractions, details of both the well known and lesser known scandals and their fallouts, and I will name the dirtiest coach in football as well.
      1.Southern Methodist (SMU):Eight, all football.

      2.Arizona State:Eight, mostly baseball.

3.Auburn:Seven, mixed bag of violations, biggest were football.

4.Florida State: Seven academic scandals mostly involving all sports. Most publicized were football related.

      5.Oklahoma:Seven, five were football related.

6-10:Memphis, Texas A&M, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Wichita State also all had seven violations but none as big as the mentioned before.
