If you’ve ever driven into Cincinnati, odds are it’s been via the Brent Spence Bridge, which carries I-71 and I-75 across the Ohio River. Around 2:45 a.m. last night, two semi trucks collided in the northbound lanes (lower deck), sparking a massive fire, the damage from which has shut down the bridge indefinitely. According to the Covington fire department, one of the trucks was carrying 110 lbs. of potassium hydroxide and a large amount of diesel fuel, causing the fire to burn for hours. Thankfully, neither of the drivers were injured.
VIDEO: More video coming in of the massive semitruck fire that has shut down the Brent Spence Bridge. The explosion apparently happened after two semitrucks crashed, Covington city officials said.
