Lonzo Ball had to change his Big Baller Brand shoes four times a game

Remember Lonzo Ball’s shoe, the ZO2, which his dad’s Big Baller Brand sold for $495? This probably won’t surprise you, but they weren’t very well made. Today, Ball admitted that he wore the shoes in his Summer League debut back in 2017 even though they weren’t ready, and because they kept ripping, he had to change them every quarter.

“No one knows the real story about them shoes,” Ball said on the LightHarted Podcast with Josh Hart. “Them ZO2s I was playing in, they was not ready. No one knows this but DMO had a backpack and he had like an extra four pairs of shoes in there because I had to switch them every quarter because they would just rip.”

“If you literally have my shoes from those games, they just, like, exploded,” he added. “It’s crazy, whenever I switched my shoes, I magically got good again.”

Ball, now with the New Orleans Pelicans, severed ties with Big Baller Brand co-founder Alan Foster in March, alleging that Foster stole money from his family. He even got his Big Baller Brand tattoo covered up:

Crappy shoes may explain Ball’s lackluster Summer League debut, but what was his excuse in college?

Lonzo thinks his shoes are the reason he’s bad at basketball. He “magically got ‘good’ again” after he stopped wearing them?? HA… HA HA

To Keith Biggins. I’m here because I’ve been a follower of UK basketball for the past 60+ years. My memories of UK basketball start with Billy Ray Lickert, Don Mills, Ned Jennings, and Larry Pursiful. Ever heard of any of those guys? I probably have forgotten more about UK basketball than you will ever know. Sorry, but it’s true. You Johnny Come Lately’s think you know it all. You don’t.

Why isn’t he cutting a check to every person that bought a pair of the shoes? Just like Steve Martin in the JERK!

Just seems like he’s making excuses for his terrible play. He’s still young, with a lot of time to prove himself, but without a doubt he’s been a humongous bust! Must be hard for him to watch as Fox is easily becoming one of the league’s best PG.

I am still amazed the Lakers would take that POS over De’Aaron Fox. Not to mention getting his dad in the process.

T.T. Keep the news coming on the Ball family. It is tragic comedy.

Might be the worst cover up tat job ive ever seen. Whats up with the die on the left? Why does it look like a hexagon? And why is the 3 dots on one die different from the other. Dude got played lol
