Lonnie Walker cancels visit to Syracuse; commitment coming?

Kentucky’s already picked up three commitments in the 2017 class in the past five days, but could they pick up a few more before the early signing period ends on Wednesday? Five-star wing Lonnie Walker was scheduled to take an official visit to Syracuse this weekend, but didn’t, sparking some buzz that his recruitment may be coming to an end. Walker, who visited UK last weekend despite being ill with strep throat, is down to Arizona, Kentucky, Miami, Syracuse, and Villanova. Arizona still holds a commanding lead in Walker’s 247 Sports Crystal Ball, with 87% of the predictions; however, only two picks have been made this month.
There was already speculation Walker could announce during the early signing period, and this cryptic tweet he sent out last night has added to that:
Decisions decisions 🤔

Of course, Walker’s a high school kid, so that tweet could have been about what to eat for dinner or which shoes to wear to school on Monday, but still, something to keep an eye on…

hmmm… cancelled visit next weekend. and his last visit was here this past weekend? and he [maybe] wants to commit before wednesday… sounds like good news to me.
I hope so as we really need him. A 4-star Alexander is all we have so far, and looking like Young is the only other elite guard option.
Diallo and Green are still out there, yes?
Greene is pretty much a done deal to Syracuse per every recruiting insider in the nation, and Diallo is to either NBA or UConn (not sure UK coaches have even been in touch with Diallo in awhile).
After watching Kentucky rout Michigan State on Tuesday night, then waking up Wednesday morning with some clarity, knowing what he wants to do now, Green might not be a done deal for the Orange. Keeping my fingers crossed! (No, not literally. It’s just something you say.)
