I about rolled in the floor yesterday when John Short was asleep. I didn’t hear a nose whistle though.

I’ve got the caytes winning by 16 tonight.

Cats by 24. They were up by 21 **on the road** and they want blood. This team is “empowered” to steal a phrase from Cal. They will want to go out and show that the second half on Knoxville was a fluke.

Yep, no home cooking by the refs to bolster UT tonight. If UK gets jobbed by the refs at Rupp there may be a riot – it may very well be the only time the fans ever rush the court – before the game is even over. πŸ™‚

It’s going to get ugly for the ugly orange. Cats by 17.

Speaking of Tubby – will the UK administration PLEASE wake up and do the right thing? That is, raise a jersey in Rupp’s rafters for Tubby. It’s way past time, especially if he is in consideration as a HOF coach, who, BTW, is the only coach at UK who brought us a title who does NOT have a jersey hanging. He is getting older, and no one lives forever. It would be absolutely great to have him at a game, and he would get a huge ovation. DO IT!

Cal doesn’t have a jersey hanging (in rupp)

Don’t you just love watching Minnesota fail since they fired Tubby for Little Ricky? πŸ™‚

ukjay, Cal will have one after he retires or moves on. Tubby has been gone for ten years. It’s time.

Rules for being eligible to hang a jersey include being in the UK Hall of Fame for at least 5 years. IIRC, Tubby wasn’t inducted into the UK Hall of Fame until 2013… so he won’t be eligible until 2018 at the earliest.

Problem with us getting a 1 seed is the SEC. Really we are the only top 25 team. So no chance for a great win, and any loss is a bad loss at this point since Texas A & M fell apart.

Matt, your comments about jerry tipton are absolutely correct. For me, he is the single and ONLY reason that I refuse to buy a copy of the LHL nor will I knowingly access their web site. I do my best to avoid anything they support. I would love to see BBN do everything they can to put LHL completely out of business. I am sure there are good people who work there and I would be very sorry to see them lose their jobs so maybe those folks will come to their senses and just force him to leave, then we can all get back to having a reasonable local newspaper.

Jerry Tipton is the biggest evidence of why I despise Louisville media. if any of them are asked why they are so biased towards Louisville, they point fingers back at Lexington and claim they are all biased. There isn’t a single Louisville Jerry Tipton. not one media member in Louisville that asks the hard questions (or at least those that do are never invited to the press conferences).

Everyone on the Louisville media is a complete U of L homer. There is no one in the Lexington media who is as biased in favor of UK like the Louisville media is biased in favor of U of L. This is obvious when you look at all the scandals U of L is currently embroiled in. As much as I loathe Tipton, Forde, Goodman, etc. I know that their hate for UK keeps us honest. I know our basketball program is clean because there are a bunch of media members who are all looking very hard for reasons to bust us. No one has done this with U of L for quite some time.

Love the story about the “pretend OB/GYN”. Reminds me of the T-shirts that say “I’m not an OB/GYN, but I’ll take a look at it”. πŸ˜€

Daniel Orton was the closest thing to a “bad kid” that I have seen under Cal, and I think he was actually a BCG recruit.

Liggins in his first couple years would have been an easy #2 on that list. but he straightened out into having such a great attitude that he’s hard to place on that sort of scale.

As painful as it was to watch, our collapse against Tennessee may have been the important turning point for our season. That loss kind of flipped the switch for our players; they have been on a mission since.

I have never been madder as a UK fan than I was after the UT game. That was not only because we let that lead slip away, but also because for the second consecutive game we were getting totally screwed by the refs. I’m not usually one to complain too much about officiating, but both of those games were ridiculous.
