Lexington named one of the “Best-Run Cities” in America, again

We did it, Lexington! We did it!

According to WalletHub, lovely Lexington, Ky., the Horse Capital of the World, is one of the best-run cities in the United States. Lexington ranked fifth among the 150 largest cities across America, trailing only (1) Nampa, Idaho; (2) Provo, Utah; (3) Boise, Idaho; and (4) Durham, North Carolina on the best-run list. (Good for you, Nampa.)

Mayor Linda Gorton had this to say on Twitter about the city’s ranking: “In Lexington, our city government is efficient and productive thanks to the hard work of our employees. I’m proud to be the Mayor of such a remarkable, well-run city!”

Lexington performed best in the “Total Budget Per Capita” category, where it ranked fourth. To a see a complete breakdown of WalletHub’s findings, check out the rankings page here.

As a partner is one Lexington’s most famous institutions, KSBar and Grille, located at 1030 South Broadway with daily specials and a great family-friendly atmosphere, I would like to say thank you to WalletHub for its spreadsheets; to this community for being awesome except for on Nicholasville Road when it is raining; and to Mayor Gorton for her leadership.

Next year let’s get first.

Meanwhile, here in da Ville, the public pools and libraries are closed, the police and first responders’ budgets are being cut, and there are multiple murders weekly, if not daily. Morale is pretty much in the sewer, and Mayor Mumbles keeps on playing that fiddle.
