Lexington Burger Week 2016 is here! And my diet is not.
No, the diet will have to wait until next Monday, as it always does, with the popular cheat week upon us. Over 36 local restaurants are participating in the second Lexington Burger Week, which runs through Sunday. Last year, over 21,000 burgers were sold in the inaugural year.
So here’s what it is: each Burger Week restaurant has created a specialty burger than cannot be found on the regular menu, and all burgers cost only five dollars at each spot. You can click here for a list of all 36 specialty burgers that are available around Lexington this week.
If you’ve tried any of the burgers, please let me know what you think. I’m going out for my first one tonight and I’m struggling with narrowing the list down to one (or two) for dinner. Hit me up on the Twitter device with recommendations, please. I really need help with this.
Okay that’s enough burger talk. I’m already craving one and it’s not even 9 am. I’ve got this soggy bowl of cereal and all-day blogging to get to.
Skal Labissiere turned heads in Las Vegas last night.
Labissiere scored 16 points for Sacramento in his third summer league game late last night. It was by far his best game out in Vegas and maybe the best we’ve seen him play, too. He knocked down three-pointers, finished through contact and fought for rebounds (one leading to a putback dunk) in a statement game going forward into the summer league tournament. The Kings brass were very pleased with his performance.
Meanwhile, the Kings’ No. 1 pick, Georgios Papagiannis, looked terrible. I still can’t get over that pick.
Oh, and I’ll have a full rundown of Skal’s game around 11 am once I get done chopping up the film into GIF form.
Jamal Murray dropped 29 in Nuggets loss.
John Calipari, your thoughts?
Jamal Murray went for 29 tonight!! I stand by my statement that he will be the top scoring rookie this year.

Rivalries never die.
DeAndre Ayton named his top three schools, Kentucky included.
The No. 1 player in high school basketball announced his top three schools yesterday and your University of Kentucky Wildcats made the cut. DeAndre Ayton, a Bahamian center playing in Phoenix, is also considering Kansas and Arizona for his basketball future.
Recruiting Ayton is not easy, though, considering he may never play college basketball. Coach Cal has to decide how much energy he wants to put toward a player with eligibility concerns, when there are other quality big men in the class.
The SEC will release UK’s SEC integration poster and video this morning.
Be on the lookout for that today. We’ll have it up when it’s unveiled down in Hoover a little later this morning.
It’s Amazon Prime Day!
Lord give me the strength to stay away from Amazon.com today. And when I break, give me the strength to not buy anything I don’t need because it’s 30 percent off for 24 hours.
