How about that Sr night ceremony, how about that comeback, and how about Derek Willis?

There were idiots on the live show thread who were complaining about him last night when he was playing really well and came back in with an injured thumb. SMH.

Did you see at the end where a one-handed Briscoe boxed out 7-footer Kornet and got the rebound and put-back?

    • Realme

Matt was defending him on the post game. Was refreshing after all the Twitter and radio bashing he did for a couple weeks.

That was funny, runnin. Briscoe is tough. Right after he came back out, someone on the bench said something to him and he said “I’m aiight” lol No little hand injury keeping Briscoe out of a game.

    • That putback by Briscoe was YUGE!

What about those crazy 25-30 footers Vandy was making? I forgot Kornett could shoot like that, and one other guy made it just as the shot clock was winding down.

Briscoe played great! Fox had 5 TO’s. Time to flip flop the criticism!

    • I think Fox is still getting back in the groove. Hopefully he’ll shake any rust off and be 100% for tourney time.

Fox did shoot the ball well last night. Just need to cut the mistakes! TO’s make these games close. Just giving opponents that opportunity.

    • ukjaybrat
      10:35 am March 1, 2017 Permalink

i’ve always been more critical of fox. especially last night. he can still create in transition better than anybody on the team, but his turnovers came when he tried to create something off the dribble. he’s still not back to 100%. he shut me up with that 3pt early in the game, but that’s not his shot either, especially with 20s on the shot clock.

    • J-Dub421
      10:42 am March 1, 2017 Permalink

Fox sometimes tries to do too much. He did better late in the game when his decision making and shot selection improved.

    Matt was water-boarded…ha ha.
    I thought Barry banned that?

  6. I’m majorly dragging today because like an idiot I listened to the post game show last night (at least I’m in CST).

Matt should just set up a cot in the studio when we have the 9:00 tip! It’s a good thing for him we don’t still have 9:30 tips like we did years ago (especially for games that go to OT)! CM Newton got the SEC to change that I think.

I’m dragging too, but mainly because the stupid weather radio kept going off with all the t-storm and tornado warnings. Then when I got up this morning, the power was out, so no coffee. Needless to say, daddy was pretty grumpy this morning.

Jeff Foxworthy said it best: “If you have been on TV more than two times to describe the sound the tornado made, you might be a redneck.” πŸ™‚

I have remained fairly zen the last couple of games when we were down early. It’s just how this year’s team plays. We come out flat/not shooting well and slowly grind our way back into the game, then hit big shots late. We’ve played that way most of the season. It’s frustrating to watch at times, but I’m learning to not panic and just roll with it.

    • J-Dub421
      10:38 am March 1, 2017 Permalink

This year’s style of play is somewhat reminiscent of the Comeback Cats in 1998. I would take a finish like that!

    • ukjaybrat
      10:38 am March 1, 2017 Permalink

yeah. bit us a couple times (ucla, kansas, UT) but overall has worked out fine

    • I hope so RCF. Those 98 Cats were amazing in the post-season, and we had the hottest player with Shepherd. I hope Monk can do that, ala Jeff, Kemba Walker and Shabazz Napier (and both those last 2 cost us a ‘ship!).

    • RealCatsFan
      11:18 am March 1, 2017 Permalink

So Monk can be our Shep, Fox can be Wayne Turner, Willis = Padget, Bam = Magloire, and maybe Mulder can be our Cameron Mills?

Maybe if we play Duke in the tournament Bam can get Grayson Allen in a scissor hold! πŸ˜€

OMG it was every 30 seconds. NO ONE CARES !!!

i used to watch that game because i didn’t like duke and would root for unc. but after it came out that UNC pretty much cheated for 2 decades and are not being punished for it….. screw them too.
and don’t get me started on them calling it “The Rematch”
it’s a rematch every single year! GAWD!!!

    • J-Dub421
      11:11 am March 1, 2017 Permalink

This is why UK/U of L is a better rivalry. UNC and Duke play a minimum of 2X per year. When you only play once, it’s more important.

    • Realme

It was interesting a few weeks ago, they were about to play, and their series was tied, with the exact same number of points, all time. But I hate them, just fyi.

I think all that tied series, points statistics they used last time was a sales gimmick to promote it. UNC leads the all-time series with Duke 134-109 I believe.
