Just hours after arriving at the U.S. penitentiary in Tucson, Arizona, disgraced former Michigan State and USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar was physically assaulted and injured.
Lawyers say he was assaulted in May not long after being thrown into the prison’s general population, and as a result, Nassar wishes to be re-sentenced by a different judge.
Nassar received a 60-year sentence for child pornography charges, and then another 40-to-175-year prison sentence for criminal sexual conduct charges involving more than 160 women.
As Judge Rosemarie Aquilina put it, Nassar’s death warrant was signed.

According to AP News, Aquilina compared Nassar to the wicked witch in “The Wizard of Oz”
During the seven-day sentencing in January at which at least 169 women and girls provided statements, Ingham County Circuit Judge Rosemarie Aquilina describe Nassar as a “monster” who is “going to wither” like the wicked witch in “The Wizard of Oz.” She said she would allow someone “to do to him what he did to others” if the Constitution allowed.
“Unfortunately, Judge Aquilina’s comments and conducting of the sentencing proceeding appeared to encourage this type of behavior,” Nassar’s lawyers said.
Darn. Such a shame. But if the shoe fits…
Unfortunately for Nassar, people who molest hundreds of athletes over the years don’t have much leverage in the court of law.
Enjoy prison, creep.
