Kyvin Goodin-Rogers leaving UK Hoops

The hits just keep on coming for the Kentucky Women’s Basketball program. As first reported by Jen Smith, junior forward Kyvin Goodin-Rogers is leaving the UK Hoops program, becoming the fourth player in six weeks to do so.

Goodin-Rogers had played in 39 career games with 15 career starts, averaging 4.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. This season, Goodin-Rogers was averaging 5.6 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. She has been granted a full release by UK.

“Kyvin has decided it is in her best interest to leave our program and play her remaining years elsewhere,” Mitchell said. “We appreciate all the hard work that Kyvin put in while she was with our program and wish her nothing but success on and off the court moving forward.”

Four hours ago, Goodin-Rogers posted this on Twitter:

First Chrishae Rowe (dismissed), then Linnae Harper and Morgan Rich, and now Kyvin Goodin-Rogers? What the heck is happening to UK Hoops?!

    Ok, so why doesn’t KSR have even an inkling as to why UK Hoops has more people bolting for greener pastures than Syria? I seriously don’t get it; isn’t this site supposed to be connected to the programs and have inside information that the casual fan doesn’t? Either way, not a good look for Matt Mitchell’s squad. There’s lots of smoke…let’s hope there’s not the proverbial fire to follow.

    The AD and President need to take a look at the women’s program and coach to see what is going on! This doesn’t look good at all!

    You could say the Hoops team is “going up in smoke” but that would violate privacy laws I imagine?

    Iirc, KGR was pretty highly recruited; she’s makayla epps’ high school teammate. I dunno what’s going on but this is indeedgetting kind of wierd.
