Remember KyKy Tandy, the talented guard out of Hopkinsville? The one whose dad probably ruined his shot at a Kentucky offer with his “he’s not going with three or four point guards there” comment?
Yeah, him. We have an update on his basketball future.
Tandy committed to Xavier on Tuesday, choosing the Cincinnati school over Ole Miss. Tandy is the third-ranked player in the state of Kentucky going into his senior season at University Heights Academy and he announced via Twitter he will leave the state for college to be a Musketeer:

There was a time last spring when many UK fans, especially those in Western Kentucky, hoped Tandy would earn and accept an offer to stay home in the Bluegrass, but he never became a priority for Coach Cal’s staff. (I wrote about that in detail back in May: Why hasn’t Kentucky offered KyKy Tandy?) The staff instead pursued another in-state target, Dontaie Allen, and Tandy was left behind.
Now he’s off to the Big East next summer, but he’ll probably lead the state in scoring in his senior season first.
Good luck to him.
