Kyky Tandy and UK target Jaemyn Brakefield put on a show in Kentucky

The 2018 NextUp Kentucky Recruits Elite Camp gave a chance for Kentuckian Kyky Tandy and UK 2020 target Jaemyn Brakefield to put on a show. Brakefield plays for Huntington Prep and has visited UK a few times unofficially. The Cats haven’t offered Brakefield but that will likely change as the five-star forward continues to develop.

It’s a shame that things went sour between Tandy and UK. Tandy is a great player and could be a candidate to be one of the best scorers in college basketball if he stays until his junior or senior season. He just always finds different ways to score and can fill it up from deep but can also attack the rim. UK will bring in Tyrese Maxey and possibly Cole Anthony and other five-star players in the class, so UK will be fine, but everyone loves a Kentuckian on the roster.

Tandy is the shorter one featured in the video and Brakefield is the tallest. The highlights also feature Tennessean Devan Cambridge, who is in the class of 2019 and has an offer from Brown. That kid looks bouncy.

What the video HERE.

Ego aside: What is in the best interest of the kid? Would you rather sit – in hopes of playing , role playing, for KENTUCKY – or, go to another program and play/preparing for the NBA? It’s a tough choice. But scholarships are not given out like candy at Halloween.

I love Tandy’s game. I think his sophomore season would be huge with the competition he would face on a daily basis at UK. I really wish his old man would rather see him compete and learn an NBA style offense, but some people can’t see the big picture.

The comments Tandy’s father made combined with the lack of interest shown by UK after that really proves that recruiting a player to Kentucky is a family thing, not just being a good player thing #LaFamilia
