Knott County. I drove from Prestonsburg to Harlan once several years ago… that stretch of 421 between Hyden and Harlan, Lordy! Forget leaving Harlan alive, you might not even get there alive if you’re not careful.

We drove from the in-laws’ house in Atlanta to Destin, FL one time at night. The route they gave us was a narrow two-lane, twisty highway that was apparently very dangerous, judging from all the white crosses that dotted both sides every couple of miles. And it was very foggy that night, which only added to the creepiness. I can’t recall being more relieved to exit from a highway.

      I’m goin’ back to Harlan.”

Worst stretch of highway I’ve ever seen was on “Bloody 66” near Peach Springs, AZ. Really bad hairpin curves; they would double back, and after you went around the curve, you would have turned 180 degrees.

I remember Grace Kelly died on a hairpin curve on a mountainside/hillside over there where she lived (Monaco?). It was eerie that they said she had filmed a scene in a movie on that road and even the same curve I think (although the scene could have been done in front of a green screen…not sure).

I’m sure there would have been lots of white crosses on the side of the road if not for the fact that most of it had a rock wall on one side and a cliff on the other side. There were some areas where the cutout in the rock formed kind of a tunnel with the left side open, so you had rock to your right and overhead. Oh, I forgot to mention that you meet many dump trucks full of gravel or coal driving like bats out of hell on this narrow winding road.

Did they ever prove that someone tampered with her car? She was a beautiful lady, and a great actor.

Kind of like the death of Natalie wood – tragic ending for a beautiful actress that is shrouded in mystery. Did they ever charge Robert Wagner?

I think they’ve reopened that case; and Wagner is a “person of interest”. They better hurry; I think he’s over 90.

Weird, Matt’s not entitled to go to a sporting event that isn’t open to the public?

rg, I have to complement you on one of the best replies I have seen in a while for the article about UGA suggesting masks during sex for their students. Well played, sir.

That article was hilarious; especially the picture of the bulldog wearing the mask on a bed of roses..Drew is a master.
Also funny that UGA took it all down after they were humiliated on social media.

What did they expect? What Drew posted was probably tame compared to 99% of what was out there.

Good luck getting inside a retirement community with COVID, Drew. My mom’s place has been on lockdown since March. Have only seen her in person one time since then, and that was through glass. 🙁

In case y’all haven’t seen it, apparently getting married has turned Cameron Mills into a badass.

Never heard that story; Marilyn Manson, a sex symbol and a serial killer, ugh.
