Considering Smashburnfan’s opinions about Cal and UK basketball, I find the fact that he’s a Bengals fan…very funny.

The chance to actually get to the national playoffs would give UK Football much more exposure than winning the SEC Championship. It would be a long shot, but if UK managed to win the pod and get in the playoffs, it would be huge for the program.

I didn’t get to hear all that (listening is spotty today). Are they proposing some system different from the usual SEC east race that is in our favor?

Can Ryan do that? Just renounce all his “Indiana ties” so he’s not a Hoosier anymore? If so, I need to let Mrs RCF know. She was born in Indiana. 🙂

My wife was born in Indiana and even grew up an IU fan. She hasn’t officially renounced all of that, but she considers herself a UK fan while still being a casual IU fan. She has lots of UK gear and nothing IU these days. She has come a long way!

So my younger daughter is now getting some volleyball recruiting letters, and she got one from IUS (Indiana University Southeast), across the river in Jeffersonville. If she goes to school there, her diploma will actually say IU on it – it will be considered the same as actually attending IU. If that happens, I claim free reign to kid her about getting her picture on a popcorn box. 🙂

So can you actually eat carp? If so, is it any good? I’m not a fisherman, so I don’t know much about carp other than they get huge. When I was a kid and went fishing, people usually threw the carp back. I know that bass, bluegill, crappie, etc., are good for eating, even catfish if properly boned and prepared. Just wondering.

    • ClutchCargo
      10:58 am July 23, 2020 Permalink

Carp is edible, but pretty oily and bony. I personally consider them a nuisance. Not sure what you mean by “even catfish” though. That’s some of the best eating fish, in my book. Bass are fun to catch, but are a notch below for eating, imho.

Fam used to catch perch out of Lake Huron. Tiny but so good.

You have to remove the “mud vein” before frying carp.

    • RealCatsFan
      11:04 am July 23, 2020 Permalink

I think the guy who caught the fish should have it mounted and motorize it like the “Big Mouth Billy Bass” that they used to sell that would sing to you. 🙂

I’ve been there several times. It’s really good if you like that home-style type of food. Kind of like a mom and pop Cracker Barrel. I would put Loveless Cafe in Nashville ahead of it, but it’s almost as good.

I’m sick of not being able to go out to eat. There is a great little tacqueria (El Taco Shop…not an original name, but GREAT food!) here that we would sometimes go to with friends after church on Sunday night, and I miss it. We’ve gotten take out from there since then, but the fellowship with Christian friends was as big a part of it as the food. Plus the owners are a really sweet younger couple, and they have a salsa/condiment bar that is GREAT so you can doctor up your food the way you like.
