Really poor form that the Jordan Classic is not being televised. I’m sure we’ll all watch the boxing undercard at MSG.
    Let’s hear it for espn…grrrrr.

Yes, BOOOO! I think they’re so depressed about Zion leaving Duke that they’re not thinking straight.

This is why I have the Tennis Channel.

Yep, we have three recruits that will be playing. Memphis fans are as irritated as I am; they won’t get to watch Wiseman and Jeffries.

Not a season ticket holder. but I am excited about these chair backs.

    • ClutchCargo
      10:16 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

Agree. I go to maybe a couple of games each season, and it’s usually upper level for me. Those bleachers are the worst. Especially after you have been to similar sized arenas with chair backs all over. Going to Indy to watch the Celtics/Pacers tonight, and Banker’s Life Arena chair backs are the best.

    • RealCatsFan
      10:19 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

So are these going to be actual individual seats, or are they just adding backs to the existing bleachers like they did in Commonwealth (er Kroger)?

    • ClutchCargo
      10:20 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

      Chairs, just like lower arena.

    • Realme
      10:21 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

Actual seats! Arm rests in between, so you actually get your whole seat!

    • RealCatsFan
      10:22 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

Great! Step in the right direction. Now let’s just get the blue-hairs into luxury suites with a stock ticker going across a TV inside, and get some loud, rowdy fans down there courtside.

    • ClutchCargo
      10:23 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

Upon further review, the picture I saw looks like the plastic seats at outdoor stadiums. Still better than those damn metal bleachers.

    • Realme
      10:27 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

I always thought it was funny that your whole seat could be swallowed up others before you get there at Rupp, but at Commonwealth the spaces were bigger. Only thin people watch basketball?

Complimentary UK-branded knitting needles, too, RCF.

    • J-Dub421
      10:30 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

Giving potentially angry UK fans access to knitting needles sounds like a bad idea. Look out Doug Shows. Granny has knitting needles.

    • ClutchCargo
      10:31 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

I’m not exactly skinny, but it’s really annoying when there are people around you who actually cover more than one seat on the bleachers. I think those seats are a relic from the 70’s when people were smaller on average.

    • ClutchCargo
      10:33 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

But the needle wielding bluehairs will be contained in their glass enclosures for protection of the public. They will also be free to apply too much old lady perfume and just not watch the game. 😉

Yep, nothing quite like the experience of being wedged between Possum and Cooter for two hours of sweaty glory while they spit tobaccy into a cup.

    • ClutchCargo
      10:39 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

Ha! Even more glorious when Possum and Cooter smell like overflowing ashtrays.

    • J-Dub421
      10:41 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

No, it’s not. I’m a skinny chick, and people are constantly encroaching into my space in public because they think I don’t need it. It’s highly annoying.

    • Realme
      10:41 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

My favorite was being wedged in there next to someone who was coughing and sneezing the whole time. And that one time a weird college age girl in front of me tried to use my legs as her chair back.

So EJ is testing the waters – no big surprise there. But I hope that he listens to the voice of reason, and not some carnival barker promising him something that won’t be delivered.

    • Realme
      10:21 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

He should go get the experience, so that it’s familiar next year, after having his breakout season.

    • runningunnin.454

Lovely, from 8 minutes against Auburn to the NBA, one giant leap for mankind.

    • J-Dub421

Hopefully he has a long conversation with PJ.

    • ClutchCargo
      10:25 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

A really long conversation… The other guys, I get it. But I would hate to see E.J. leave at this point. Especially if it’s just one of those things where he feels like he has to be one and done to meet expectations.

    • J-Dub421
      10:29 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

Testing the Waters and getting constructive feedback is good though. Now he’ll know what to work on over the summer. It did wonders for PJ.

    • RealCatsFan
      10:35 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

I think one thing that PJ had in his favor was a balanced outlook from his dad. Can’t recall – was PJ’s dad a former pro athlete?

    • J-Dub421
      10:40 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

Not sure, but his dad is a coach.

    • runningunnin.454
      10:41 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

PJ’s dad played at MTSU, I think, and he coached at Findley Prep. Don’t know about a pro career.

    • ClutchCargo
      10:44 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

Feedback is definitely good. But when I read the actual statement by EJ, it sounds like he is gone unless he is told he won’t be a first rounder. To me, that is slightly different than just going to get feedback and weighing all the options with an open mind.

    • RealCatsFan
      10:44 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

Nothing like having your dad as a coach to set you up for success in your sport – just ask my daughters. 😉

Is EJ projected anywhere near the first round?

    • RealCatsFan
      10:46 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

I just don’t understand this aura of being a one-and-done with these kids. In ten years, how many people are going to remember that you were OAD if you are no longer in the league?

    • ClutchCargo
      10:48 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

I can’t imagine that he is. But I have learned as a dad to never assume that I understand what is going through a teenager’s head. I guess I’m just gun shy from so many others bailing out in spite of evidence they should stay in school.

    • runningunnin.454
      10:54 am April 19, 2019 Permalink

We’ll need some more warm bodies next year; never fear, I’ll call Cal…I can give him a good 4 minutes and thirty-one seconds per game.

    • J-Dub421

I haven’t seen anything that puts EJ in the first round.

She should be grateful that her buffoon of a husband is even employed ! I have never understood how that man has even ONE job, let alone multiple ones. BTW, since when do ‘good fathers’ raise kids who have multiple run-ins with the police, as well as numerous summons to school about discipline/academic issues ?

Keldon in a Mclaren? Sorry, but I don’t care how much money he makes at the next level, NO teenage boy should be driving a car with those capabilities. I was enough of a public menace in my Camaro when I was that age.

    • J-Dub421

There was some idiot 18 year old who killed himself and his friend in Florida when he wrecked his parent’s $95,000 Tesla into a wall doing 112 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. Long story short, don’t give stupid teenagers fast cars.

About a year after I graduated from Trinity, two Trinity students got into Dad’s Nissan 300ZX and ran it into a grove of trees on US 42. It burst into flames. The skid marks were visible for years afterwards. I felt sorry for that father having to drive that stretch of road and knowing that was the spot where he lost his son. I worry enough about my older kid driving a 4-door family car. I couldn’t imagine her in a car like that. A lot of it depends on the kid, but there is a lot of temptation to show off in a car like that.
