I am sure Uncle Matt will make some callers and listeners mad today with being in Frankfort. Not the biggest Matt Bevin fan, but I hope he can do great things for our state.

Is a parade necessary? Seems like a prudent first move for an incoming governor would be to say, “ya know what, I don’t need a parade.” If anything, it should be paid for by leftover campaign funds, not public money (I have no idea how it’s actually funded).
Somebody gave up bball tickets (season?) to get football season tix? Wow, so sad. Sorry for your loss.

This caller is an idiot. We have one of about 8-9 athletic departments that actually makes money, and our AD was just named AD of the year.
People that want MB to go are just ignorant. all they see is football and basketball… thus, all they see is billy g, cal, joker, and stoops… which (so far) is 1/4 success rate.
What they don’t see is that every other sport is doing extremely well and MUCH better than they were before he got here.
so essentially, just ignore those people. they have no idea what they are talking about.
We are very lucky to have Barnhart. Of course we would all like the football program to be better. I suspect most of the people complaining about the AD didn’t go to UK or any other university.
He was whining about buy-outs too. We’re Kentucky. Money is not an issue. We can afford whatever we want.
People are pissed that we prematurely gave Stoops an extension and a raise, and I get that, but name a major university that wouldn’t have a buy-out for their football or basketball head coach.
I thought only men’s football and men’s basketball make money. Usually football carries all sports programs.
BTW Barnhart also hired Rich Brooks. People/callers jumping off the bandwagon who say they will never come back to a football game…good riddance. Your whining is pathetic. Your the same idiots who wanted Brooks gone after year 3. We better be willing to give this coach 5 – 6 years or we won’t see any success. He’s recruiting at a level we have never seen and we have to give him the time to improve his management of the game and on the field performance. The reason there is a buyout in his contract is to prevent other schools from coming in and hiring him away. Barnhart committed to Stoops for 5 or 6 years which is why the buyout decreases significantly after year 4. Barnhart is one of the top 5 AD’s in the country, quit the hating on Barnhart and stay behind this football program.
