Pitino never lies eh, remember how he kept saying he wasn’t leaving Kentucky when he already had a deal worked out with the Celtics?!

You would think Rick would be washed up with recruits’ parents, so how in the world did he sign Brian Bowen?

Mafia strong arm tactics? Agree, something doesn’t make sense. Then again, maybe he will change his mind now that the NCAA has pass their judgement.

Heard the hosts on one of the UofL radio stations practically bragging that their recruiting is the best it has ever been now that McGee is gone.

      10:44 am June 22, 2017 Permalink

McGee made their recruiting the best it had ever been, and they won a title because of it. There has been a noticeable drop off in the last few years.

then all the recruits saw how awesome pitino is at developing talent…. wha Wha WHAT !?!?
Show me every 4-5* player pitino has put in the first round of an nba draft and compare that to ALL of the players cal has put in there. it’s laughable.

It dropped off when they had “Twenty-one Feet of Suck”, but they have lured in a few 4* and 5* recruits last couple of years. Still nowhere close to UK, but pretty good for them.

    • J-Dub421
      10:54 am June 22, 2017 Permalink

Their 5* one-and-done players are never one-and-done. They always end up being multi-year players.

Cal says some ridiculous things as well, but so far he has not had to stand up in a courtroom with his hand on the Bible telling the world how he banged a skank on a restaurant table and dribbled down his leg (and not a basketball dribble)!

Cal engages in some hyperbole, all coaches do. Pitino straight up lies.

Lol, all the U19 teams will be young.

Breaking News! Chane Behanan’s 2012 FF ring up for auction again! Get it before it becomes totally worthless! 😀

If that banner comes down, I would think it’s value would only go up. Talk about a conversation piece.

just think of how much weed he can buy if he sells the 2013 championship ring! He’s probably holding on to it a few more months, then when the banner comes down he’ll get more money lol

Does anyone else think Pitino should be embarrassed by his poor writing skills? Did he proofread that letter at all?

    • runningunnin.454
      10:52 am June 22, 2017 Permalink

I wondered why he wrote the letter at this time…reeks of desperation.

    • J-Dub421

I was referring more to things like, “he would have lied and lie some more.” (You shouldn’t change verb tense in the middle of a sentence.)

Or, “after months of reflection.” Really Rick? You and Andre McGee were on the phone for months straight?

I can’t for the life of me understand how Rick and Jurich keep their jobs.Someone that is a Louisville fan has to have some morals.Someone that decides the hiring and firing has to have some morals. DON’T THEY?

    • J-Dub421
      11:05 am June 22, 2017 Permalink

They have none. No shame, no morals.

Obviously, the powers that be do not. UK would have cleaned house within a week. The irony is that they are going to be good next year…you would think they would have been destroyed. That’s one thing the UL fans don’t seem to realize…the NCAA cleared the way for them to move forward.

    • RealCatsFan
      11:18 am June 22, 2017 Permalink

UK was FORCED to clean house in 88. If they had any way to pin this on Pitino, he would be gone. Come to think of it, how was it that they had any way to pin the 88 scandal on Sutton?

    • ky196
      12:06 pm June 22, 2017 Permalink

Sutton’s son was supposedly the person who took the test for Eric Manuel. No way dad didn’t know about that or was involved!

Honestly, Why is this man’s name still hanging in the rafters of Rupp?

    • RealCatsFan
      11:17 am June 22, 2017 Permalink

Because he went to three Final Fours, two title games, and won a championship at UK after resurrecting the program. That and the fact that he is also doing us a big favor by making Louisville a laughing stock for the entire country. 😉 Kind of like a “double-naught spy”. 😀

Crawford gave an excellent take on the UofL situation the other day:

Crawford and Bozich are both so scared of Pitino and Jurich they wouldn’t dare say anything bad about the cards.I mean come on out and say it’s time to clean up instead of beating around the bush like Crawford’s article.

  11. oneballman
    11:34 am June 22, 2017 Permalink

I get why it’s there, but do you really support that it should stay? every time we play Louisville, the pre-game will show his name in the rafters and bring up the scandal.Even after he retires/moves on that will get brought up and I really don’t to hear about it again.

  12. J-Dub421
    11:42 am June 22, 2017 Permalink

I perused the Card Chronicle again, and U of L fans seem to think that:
    1. This whole situation wasn’t a big deal because there wasn’t that much money involved.
    2. That Andre McGee was the only one involved. (They place NO blame on the players or Pitino.)
    3. That even if their players did this and were ineligible, that they shouldn’t have to vacate any games/titles because the players’ eligibility should be restored after a short period of time (a few games).

Sorry Louisville fans, but eligibility is like virginity; once it’s gone it’s gone. You can’t get it back.

    • runningunnin.454
      11:52 am June 22, 2017 Permalink

That does make for interesting reading; they seem very annoyed that the NCAA did not stick to “precedent”, and instead interjected a moral compass. Did they expect anything else?
They also seem to think a lawsuit will restore wins like at Penn State. As far as I know, PSU was not accused of violating NCAA rules.

Shouldn’t rick be removed from the hall of fame? After having all those games , two final 4s, and a championship erased, this stats aren’t exactly hall-worthy.

Also was in trouble at Hawaii when he was starting out as a coach. Plus that puddle of rickatoni he left on that restaurant table.
