36 Comments for KSR is at TQL! (Friday Show Thread)
It’s been a long week. here’s to a great show (and thread) to kick off a big weekend in sports !
I take it that since i’m the only person commenting that everyone else is being attacked by google ads whenever they click anywhere on any of the pages?
I resorted to using adblock to get around that (sorry KSR). is this something you guys did or wordpress? gotta fix that soon or you’re gonna lose a lot of ad dollars.
Thanks for the suggestion jaybrat. Literally everything I clicked was taking me to an ad site.
i thought it was just me at first so i turned on adblock (i leave it off for this site bc they’ve earned my ad money) but then 45 minutes into the show and no one else had commented, realized it probably wasn’t just me.
I don’t usually have any problems, but the ads went haywire today. If I tried to like a post – ad, if I clicked home at the top of an article – ad, if I tried to comment – ad. Very annoying.
Thanks from me also, Jay. Maybe the haywire ads will keep all trolls out of our face for the rest of the show.
Re: the latest developments in the Louisville scandal: strippers are pretty mercenary. There is no way those chicks were stripping for free at U of L. Get real.
Didn’t Powell say that she contacted the NCAA previously and they didn’t take her seriously and ignored her?
Yes, she said she called them before contacting publishers. I love this development of her now cooperating with the NCAA due to their dumb actions.
It also shows how incompetent the NCAA is. This is a pretty serious allegation and they didn’t even look into it AT ALL.
i’ve basically given up on the ncaa doing anything to duke or unc… part of me thinks louisville will get away scot free also just because they are associated by conference to the “blue bloods” that can’t be touched. but how could you possibly let them off ?
Sounds like she picked a good, no-bs attorney. Too bad for Louisville.
KSR really screwing the pooch on this site with their stupid ads
Thanks for the tip btw ukjaybrat.
This UL strippergate thing and any investigating will take years wait and see. Notice nothing has come from the UNC thing too so the NCAA only punishes anything UK.
While the NCAA continues to “investigate UNC” they already managed to investigate SMU, and hand down punishment. I think the NCAA has been investigating UNC since 2011 or 2012. SMU committed their infractions in 2013, and has already been investigated and punished. The longer this goes without resolution, the more I think nothing will happen to UNC.
And by dragging things out, they ensure that if they do punish UNC, most of the participants in the violations will be long gone.
They’re trying to let UNC worm out of punishment by saying it was an academic problem school wide, not an athletic department problem. This ignores the fact that all their athletes were being specifically directed to these classes to stay eligible.
Pretty sad when you have to install plug-ins to post a comment on a fan forum.
Maybe get your programmers to divert their attention from developing apps that only work for i-phones and fix the issues on the site. Not everyone wants to deal with the hassles of Twitter.
I hope people have been tweeting them so they at least know they have a problem to take care of.
We’re aware and working on it
Thanks for the info Mrs. TT!
I for one tweeted 3 times with no answer
Thanks for the update. I was going to notify someone at KSR via email, but could not find a link for it. Wouldn’t have mattered anyway – it would just take me to an ad site. 😉
I am so happy it’s basketball season. Nothing better.
Blake Bone needs to put on some weight. He has trouble working through contact.
I know the pass that kid was talking about. Everybody says “Towles threw the ball low” while not acknowledging that Towles was on a dead run wide right, evading two defenders, throwing back across his body.
Timmons only gets on the field at all because I believe Stoops thinks he has to since he was one of his first BIG recruits. He should never be catching any kick.
Towles is built like a fullback and yes he should run and run lots more.
I have been down on Dawson and believe it is justified as his play calling is just unexplainable.
On the one hand, i agree he has had some “un-explainable” calls… but if you look at it from the other side “if it worked he’d be a genius” type scenario. When your players are not physically as talented as the other team, sometimes you have to throw a couple of curveballs just to get some progress… is that what he’s actually doing or did he just make really bad calls? who knows.
I’ve said a thousand times that your QB must run the football occasionally to be successful. It’s just how it goes at this level. That comment by Dawson makes me question his philosophies more than ever.
I agree that Towles should be used as a weapon with the option. All year long, we have been getting killed by dual threat QB’s. It would be nice to deal some of that out to the teams we are playing.
Plus he’s pretty decent at running it usually, and he’s huge! 6’5″ and 240 lbs! Towles is tough enough to take a hit. Free the beast.
i agree… taking away half of what makes towles a decent qb just because you don’t want him to get hurt seems silly. He wants to run, let him run. Keeping him safe in the pocket isn’t working out so well anyway, so open up the playbook and use him to his strengths.
There are still two women with more grand slam titles than Serena Williams, Margaret Court (24) and Steffi Graff (22). Both won calendar year grand slams.
