Kiyaunta Goodwin, 4-star OT and top 50 prospect, will announce college decision on April 17

Kentucky is riding plenty of momentum in the recruiting field right now and they could be on the verge of adding another four-star prospect.
According to Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports, Kiyaunta Goodwin, who is a top 50 recruit in the nation and a four-star class of 2022 player, has set a date for his commitment: Saturday, April 17. The 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive tackle is considering the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Michigan State, and the Kentucky Wildcats. Most believe that it will come down to either the Buckeyes or UK, but Wiltfong recently updated his Crystal Ball prediction for Goodwin, projecting him to join Kentucky with a confidence level of “8”. Wiltfong was the second 247 Sports’ expert who tabbed Goodwin to Kentucky on Thursday.
Goodwin, a Louisville native, has been hot on the Kentucky radar for years now. UK was his first Power 5 offer, coming all the way back in July 2017. Goodwin is listed by 247 Sports as the No. 47 player in the nation according to the site’s Composite Score.
Here’s what Goodwin told 247 Sports about the ‘Cats:
Kentucky: “I have a good relationship with the coaches at Kentucky. I feel they have a very good strength and conditioning staff. Kentucky was a school when I was heavy (read about Goodwin’s transformation here) they still showed love. I have a really good relationship with them. Their program is on the way up. Other than this year they’ve been up since Coach (Mark Stoops) got the job.”
Kentucky has already picked up four commitments for the class of 2022, with three of them coming in the last four weeks: Grant Bingham (4-star OT), Jeremiah Caldwell (4-star, ATH), Treyveon Longmire (3-star, ATH), and Andre Stewart (3-star, CB). If Goodwin were to choose the ‘Cats, he would become the highest-rated player to commit to Kentucky in the Mark Stoops era, according to the 247 Sports’ database.
Is it time to get the dice out again?

He looks like he is 27 years old…
After reading this exciting article about how Kentucky has a chance at landing a top 50 recruit, that is what you decide to reply? Have you never seen a high schooler that looks older than their age?
I’m really sorry I have offended you with my comment and that it didnt live up to your standard…
How can that be when Stoops has had a handful of 5* latest one being Roger’s. How is a 4* higher then a 5*? No matter I want this Stud!
I took to mean he looks like a man instead of a kid.
At least UK isn’t the middle finger.
He said he looks like he’s 27….Not 67. Take a frigging chill pill Helen.
If we get this kid, and beat out THOSE schools, we have officially arrived at the “adult table”. We were always gonna get there eventually with Stoops at the helm, but this would seriously put the college football world on notice. Really hoping we can get this kid in Lexington!
Settle down there Francis, it’s one 4 star recruit from the state. Pump the brakes. If you think this one, local recruit would put us at the big boy table of college football, you’re a bit out of touch with reality. Didn’t we beat out Alabama and others for that 5 star Elam guy? Stoops no doubt has turned UK football into a force, but thinking one recruit equates us to Bama or Clemson is just delusional.
Yes, we beat them for Elam; but they’ve swooped in and taken the kids we were “all-in” for like Damian Harris and Mac Jones. Just a year ago, Clemson and Notre Dame took two of the best local guys. If we can beat them for this kid, (even if he is a 4-star,) then it’s a massive win. It was a huge win when we got Elam, but he always seemed like a UK lean. This kid’s final five are the strongest programs in the nations, (except for MSU maybe,) and a commit would be so huge. I didn’t say it equates us to Bama or Clemson. I said we get to “eat at the table”, so to speak, where we would all battle for the same elite recruits instead of what we’ve been used to doing, which is battle for the recruits that aren’t necessarily highly-ranked enough for the big boys. Reading comprehension is a lost skill for sure.
Stoops has all ready beat the Big boys for recruits.
Dude looks like a stud. Hope he chooses the Cats!
Stay home young man. You’ll love Lexington and you can ball out with the family vs SEC. best of all worlds!!!! CMon we’d love to see you in BLUE!
I would love to get a recruit like that but when I see Alabama on the list I don’t get a feeling we have a legitimate shot but it would be nice to get him
This is great news for the Cats! Stools is building a program at UK. We’re becoming a football school. Of Calipari doesn’t get it together, basketball will 2nd fiddle to football.
“Stoops”
