Kentucky woman attends “Shop With A Cop” event, gets arrested for shoplifting
Police arrested a woman yesterday during “Shop With A Cop” at the Wal-Mart in Manchester, Kentucky.
Before we go any further, I would like to point out that “Shop With A Cop” is an event where cops, as in police officers, go to Wal-Mart with underprivileged children to shop for Christmas presents for their family members and friends. That means the Wal-Mart was full of cops. And it was a charity event. A charity event that was full of cops.
Back to the story…
Samantha Henson, the woman pictured above, thought this would be the ideal time to shoplift — when in reality, it was arguably the worst time to shoplift. Henson was attending the event with her son, who was likely shopping for his mother, when she was busted for stealing jewelry.
Security personnel at the Wal-Mart noticed Henson concealing the items under her clothing so they alerted police, the same police that were all over the store doing good deeds during the holiday season.

Yeah, the kid is the real victim here. It would suck bad enough to be that poor, but then to have your mom’s mugshot out there like that? Wow.
Was it a closed event? If not, she may not have been there with a child. I doubt Walmart shutdown during its busy season.
It’s just sad that some people who have absolutely no business procreating insist on doing just that – often multiple times! Agree with JM, the kid is the real loser, and will probably perpetuate the behavior of his parents.
Also, thank God she is not wearing a UK shirt! Can someone photoshop a UofL logo onto that sweatshirt?

Not the first time. A couple of years ago, a lady, scratch that, a female sent her kids to Shop with a Cop only to return all of the gifts to the store for cash. People like this should die of gonorrhea.
That’s why I tear off the tags when I buy gifts for the Angel Tree kids.
It doesn’t matter the circumstances, it’s simply that hard NOT to steal or shoplift when all you’re thinking about is when you’ll be able to shoot up heroin next. I see it literally (and I hate using the word “literally,” but it actually applies here) every. single. day.

I don’t think eastern Kentucky or any part of Kentucky wants to be associated with Manchester. Can we just say Manchester and treat it like it’s on its own? Is this the same Wal-Mart where Matt was saying 2 guys met up a half an hour before a court appearance and one shot the other in the parking lot?

I feel bad for everyone involved. You have to be in a pretty bad place to feel you need to shoplift in such a situation. Having said that- was it really necessary to post her pic on KSR so her child’s friends will all see it?
